The concert event of the season in Clinton! illis choirsa ke record The choirs of Wesley -Willis United Church in Clinton have been involved in a project that might just put Clinton on the map. They have been putting their hearts and voices in- to producing an album that reflects the style and quality often taken for granted in a small town church choir. Produced by Mary Hearn of Clinton, the album has been in the works since March 1 of this year. By August the production and mastering of the tapes was completed and by September, was sent out for the final pro- cess, the manufacturine. The Choirs of Wesley -Willis Sing Praises was recorded live in the United Church and the overdub work was later handled in the Circle City Records recording studio in Holmesville. Owners of the recording studio are Larry Johnson, his wife Sharon, Randy Lawson and Rex Johnson. "Everyone except Sharon was involved in engineering the album," said Larry. Circle City Records has been in operation smce early February 1983. Since then, the owners of the studio have produced suite a few albums. Central Huron Secondary School's choir took advantage of the studio and recorded 0 Canada. Larry Johnson said, "We have about three or four jobs going right now, and this sum- mer we may be recording for a band from Toronto. Apparently they like the location because it's near the lake." Apart from the Toronto possibility, the studio is primarily involved with groups from a 40 to 50 mile radius. When the church choir decided to record an album they decided to employ Jim Fit- zgerald of James Fitzgerald Studios to photograph the three choirs and Gary Haist to design the cover. Directing the senior and junior choir is Mary Hearn. The primary choir was directed by Alice Andrews. Organist and primary choir accompanist was Cathie Pot- ter. Junior choir accompanist was Bonnie Jewitt.
