To assist in the development of export
markets for Ontario beef breeding stock, the
Associated Beef Brevis of Ontario will
receive special grants to a maximum of
$200,000 over the next three years,
Agriculture and Food Minister Dennis
Timbrell announced recently.
"This organization has been successful in
establishing export markets in the U.S. and
Central America but 1 feel there is great
potential to increase our exports of breeding
stock," Timbrell said. "These grants will
help realize this potential, helping the
organization eventually stand on its own."
The grants will help underwrite staff costs
and office and travel expenses for a
marketing manager and support staff to a
maximum of $100,000 in the first year. The
46. In memoriam
WHITMORE
A tribute of Love and Remem-
brance to Erlin Whitmore who
passed away suddenly one year
ago Dec. 12, 1982:
When I must leave you
For a little while -
Please do not grieve
And hug your sorrow to you
Through the years.
But start out bravely
With a gallant smile
And for my sake
And in my name
Live on and do
All things the same.
Feed not your loneliness
On empty days.
But fill each waking hour
In useful ways.
Reach out your hand
In comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you
And hold you near:
And never, never
Be afraid to die,
For I am waiting for you in the
sky!

And give him special care,
And make up for all he suf-

And for all that seemed unfair.

Guessing Games
Here are some games which can be played
inside during the cold winter months. These
games can be played with a friend after school or
at a party. If the games are played at a party,
you may want to change them a bit.
1. Guess the number:
Fill a jar with anything small, such as buttons,
pennies, or candies, and have everyone guess how
many things are in the jar. The person closest to
the correct number could win the jar of goodies.
2. Guess the sounds:
Hang a sheet over a doorway and make differ-
ent sounds behind the sheet with various objects,
such as scissors snapping, a broom sweeping, or
a padlock opening and shutting. Have everyone
try and guess what the sounds are.
3- Guess the place:
Tell each person a different place name, such
as Paris or Toronto, and have everyone try and
guess the place by asking questions. The person
being asked the questions can only answer yes or
no.
4. Guess the liquid:
Fill some paper cups with different liquids,
such as orange juice, soft drinks, or coffee, put a
lid on the cups, and have everyone try and guess
the contents after taking one small sip through a
straw.
