Marie and group play a bit of old
time music for Huronview residents
HURONVIEW - Sunday morning worship
was held in the Huronview chapel, with Rev.
Pick conducting the service. There was a
good attendance. Elsie Henderson and Hugh
Lobb sang a duet accompanied by Margaret
McQueen. Hugh, in fine voice, then sang a
solo.
Marie Flynn and her group of musicians
were here on Nov. 27 to entertain the
residents. A fine program of old time music
was presented. From the response of the au-
dience, this group is a very popular one and
much enjoyed.
There was another colorful Tupperware
display in the activity room on Nov. 28.
Many useful items were shown. This was a
splendid opportunity to shop early for
Christmas and get that special gift for so-
meone special.
A music appreciation session took place
on Nov. 29 and several residents attended
this program for an hours relaxation.
Mid -week Bible study under the direction
of Mrs. M. Prouty was held in the chapel on
Thursday afternoon. Father John Pluta con-
ducted Catholic Mass Friday morning.
Christmas is not too far away, since we
had one of the first festive programs of the
season Sunday afternoon. The Seaforth
Dashwood band under the leadership of Dr.
Toll and Harry Hoffman put on an excellent
concert of song and instrumental music.
The band played a medley of carols that
were very good and a joy to hear. We also
enjoyed the festive selections as sung by a
male quartet. One of the most popular
carols "Silent Night" was sane by Cathy
Henderson and was accompanied by Elsie
Henderson.
Carol Ann McQuaid, a very talented
young lady, played a fine number on the
violin accompanied at the piano by her
mother. Carol Ann then performed an ex-
cellent step dance routine. Elsie Henderson
thanked the entertainers for providing an
afternoon of song and music.
We extend a warm welcome to George
Mann of Hullett Township, Edgar Allen
from Seaforth and Mrs. Lenore Harrison of
Goderich who have come to reside at Huron -
view.
To the families of Georgina Ryan, William
Westlake and Louis Masnica we offer our
sincere sympathy. These residents of
Huronview died recently.

celebrate
Hum ,n Rights
December 10 is Universal Human Rights
Day. The Baha'i community of Goderich
Township will be celebrating this special
event by gathering for prayers.
This year, Canada is celebrating the 35th
anniversary of the signing of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights. This historic
document is a sign of the growing maturity
of mankind in its recognition of a universal
set of principles and a common standard of
achievement for all nations. As such, it is
helping to increase the number of nations
and peoples of the world who recognize that
"the inherent dignity" and "equal and in-
alienable rights of all members of the
human family is the foundation of freedom,
justice and peace in the world."
Liz Feltham, secretary, explained that
the Baha'i teachings emphasize the need for
this recognition of the oneness of the human
family. But they also stress, Liz explained,
that the achievements of equal oppor-
tunities and rights for each individual car-
ries with it the obligation to eliminate those
prejudices which poison our relationship
and cause the conflicts and disunity which
threaten our civilization."
