un the birth of their daughter, Amber
Elizabeth in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mrs. Lutz and baby daughter arrived horse
last Saturday.
The annual Christmas sleeting of the
Auburn Women's Institute will beheld on
December 13 with Mrs. Gordon Chanuley
and Mrs. Donald 1laines in charge of the
program. 'There will be an exchange of $2
gifts. Everyone is welcome.
Auburn and District lions Club will hold
their Christmas bingo on Friday, December
9 with turkey's and casts prizes.
WMS Banquet
The Huron Chapel Missionary Church
W.M.S. group, under the direction of Mrs.
Heather Mc'('owan, held their annual
Christmas banquet in Auburn Hall last Fri -
.day evening. December 2 at 7 p.m. Turkey,
a variety of salads ,and pies highlighted the
dinner.

Special guests for the evening included
the Young People and their parents
associated with the Huron Chapel Youth
programs as well as the Cadet Club
members and their parents.
A special slide presentation was
presented by the Reverend Arthur and
Evelyn Kruger of Grand Bend who had
made a visit to the Church of God Mission
work in Tanzania and Kenya this past sum-
mer. This was a very enjoyable evening.
Church News
Flowers were placed in Auburn Knox
United Church last Sunday in memory of a
former member, the late Robert B. Turner.
The Advent Candle -Lighting ceremony
was continued with Mrs. Donald Haines
assisting. Gary Shuttleworth chose for his
Advent message, The Saviour," and stated
that He carne, is here today and will come
again.
Mrs. Greg Park was the organist and led
the choir in two Christmas anthems. The
Junior congregation was led by Mrs. Gordon
Gross and Mrs. Ken Ramsay. The ushers
were Bob Worsen and Greg Park.
It was announced that there will be a com-
munity Christmas carol service at
1 on Jesboro United Church on Sunday,
December 11 at 8 p.m. This is being planned
by the Blyth Area Ministerial Association
and all are invited.

BELGRAVE - The Belgrave United
Church Women held their Christmas
meeting on Nov. 29.
Donations were given to the Belgrave
Cubs, Brownies, United Church Youth
Group and Huron County Fancily and
Children Services.
The boxes for shut-ins will be packed at
the home of Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse the mor-
ning of Dec. 13. White Gift Sunday will be
held Dec. 18.
Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler reported for the
nominating committee. Reports were given
for the various committees.
Mrs. George Johnston played the piano
for a sing song of favorite Christmas Carols.
Mrs. Ross Anderson presented the film strip
"Behold This Child", part two "The Pro-
mise Fulfilled".
The worship service was conducted by
Mrs. Dorothy Logan and Mrs. Robert
Grasby, Christmas Resolutions, the
changes in our lives. A discussion was held
on the trends away and toward the meaning
of Christmas.
WMS meet
The December meeting of the WMS was
held on Nov. 28 at the home of Mrs. Victor
Youngblut.
Mrs. Youngblut read scripture and Mrs.
Fear read "O Little Town of Bethlehem'.
A unanimous decision was made to join
with the Maitland Presbytery in the new
year.
"Hark The Herald Angels Sing" was read
by Mrs. Fear and everyone read a
Christmas poem or story.

Christmas Supper
Ninety-eight members and families of
Calvin -Brick United Church and Sunday
School enjoyed their annual Christmas Pot
Luck Supper at the Belgrave W.I. Hall on
Nov. 29.
After the meal, a program was put on by,
the Sunday School. It included "Christmas
Is" a playlet by Trisha Taylor, Debbie and
Dianne Ross, David McBurney, Tabatha
Pattison and Doug Wilson; "A Whistle and
Christmas" by Dianne Ross, Sherry Taylor,
Dawn Dow, Chris Jamieson and Brad
Robinson and "The Day Before Christmas"
by Mark Robinson, Brandon Coultes, Brent
and Brad Robinson. Recitations were given
by Aaron Coultes, Tracy Robinson and
Steven Miles.
Carol singing was led by Rev. John G.
Roberts with Mrs. George McGee at the
piano.
A play entitled A Quiet Christmas" was
presented by the Intermediate and Senior
Class. Members of the cast were Darcy and
Grady Lamb, Angela and Jason Coultes,
Stephen, Cathy and Maryon Dow, Joanne
Olson, Brad Shiell and Laura Munro.
Each child present received a treat and
the evening closed in song.
Belgrave 4-H winners
At the Huron County 4-H awards night
held recently, the Blyth-Belgrave Beef Calf
Club completed another successful year, br-
inging home a number of the major awards.
Highest score in the county first year
member was Steven Coultes, highest scorer
in County Beef Club was Meribeth Scott.
Highest scorer in the 4-H Beef Silver

Dollar competition was Lisa Thompson,
Champion Beef Showman and Champion all
around showman was Anne Procter. The
Champion Shorthorn Heifer award was won
by Lisa Thompson, Champion Shorthorn
Steer, Anne Procter. Highest scorer in the
judging competition was Lisa Thompson.

Memorial Fund awards were made to the
top ranking Beef Club members who ex-
hibited at Seaforth Fair. The Blyth-
Belgrave Beef Club won top honors in Sec-
tion 1 taking five of the 22 prizes: First - Lisa
Thompson, $200; Second - Meribeth Scott,
$175; Fourth - Steven Coultes, $125; Fifth -
Paul Coultes, $100; 15th - Anne Procter, $25.
The club aLsu won the $25 prize for the
must attractive exhibit of 4-H calves at the
Beef Championship Show at Seaforth Fair.
Members completing their projects this
year are: Paul Coultes, Steven Coultes,
Paul Currie, Robert Gordon, Paul Hallahan,
Grady Lamb, Corey McKee, Chris Michie,
Anne Procter, Meribeth Scott, Kevin
Scriingeour, (:len Taylor, Lisa Thompson,
Club Leaders are Murray Scott, Neil Vin-
cent and Jim Taylor.
Personals
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson visited on
Surxfay afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Mer-
vyn Hayter of Varna.
Marjorie Procter and Mr. Douglas
Townley of Sarnia spent the weekend with
Mr. Elizabeth Procter. Visiting at the same
home on Monday were Mrs. Howard Zettler
and Sherry Lynn of Chepstow.

Howard Roberts of Hamilton spent the
weekend at the home of his parents Rev. and
Mrs. John G. Roberts.
Due to inclement weather the euchre
scheduled for last Wednesday evening was
postponed. There will be euchre on Dec. 7.
Jeremy Campbell, son of Mr. and Mrs.
John Campbell, celebrated his third birth-
day on Nov. 21. Celebrating at his home with
him were Julie Snow, Kendra Folkard,
Michele Pletch, Luke Lockridge, Jamie Mc-
Callum, Michael Marks and Matthew
Campbell.
This community extends sympathy to
John Nixon and family on the death of his
father Isaac Nixon. The funeral was held
from the MacKenzie -McCreath Funeral
Home, l,ucknow on Saturday.
The Vincent relatives held their
Christmas gathering in the W.I.H. on Satur-
day, Dec. 3. Those present were: Mr. and
