They've been playing for about two weeks, and they've been playing just for fun. They are all having lots of fun. The Opera On Nov. 16 the school had a presentation. A group of people came, and talked to the Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8's about the opera. On the same day, the Grades 2, 3 and 4's went to the Blyth Theatre for a presentation called the Toy Shop. Mullett approves signs LONDESBORO - Hullett Township Council passed a bylaw to erect right of way yield signs and stop signs at intersections at all previously unsigned areas in the municipality at their Nov. 7 meeting. According to Clerk Harry Lear, an estimated 30 signs will be erected, depen- ding on the conditions at each intersection. Drainage bylaw passed Council passed a bylaw to impose special annual drainage rates upon land in respect of which money is borrowed tinder the Tile Drainage Act, 1971 in the amount of $40,400. Cheerios donate to Lung Association seals By Dora Shobbrook LONDESBORO - The Cheerio Club meeting was held on Nov. 16 at home of Mary Longman. She welcomed all and gave a reading. Vietta Hoggart also gave a reading, as did Florence Vivian. The minutes of last meeting and. treasurer's report were given by Dora Shobbrook. A draw donated by Mary Longman was won by Vi Burns. Nine members and two visitors, Hazel Reid and Isabel Scanlon were present. Edythe Beacom suggested that the club donate $10 to the Lung Association Christmas seals and $10 to Huron County Child Care. All singed a Get Well Card for Helen Lawson. The program included readings by Vietta Hoggart, Florence Vivian and Mary Longman. Lunch was served by Mary Longman, Florence Vivian and Vietta Hog- gart. The next meeting, with Group 4 in charge, will include a Christmas gift exchange. United news Greg Andrews greeted morning worship- pers at the United Church service. Ushers were Debbie Presczatr, Brenda Nesbitt, John Cartwright and Larry Gross. Colin Swan announced that the U.C.W. general meeting will be held Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. All reports and pennies should be brought in. The crokinole party will be held on Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. in the church basement. The Messengers meet on Nov. 27, and the Goodwill truck will be at the church on Nov. 24 in the morning. White Gift Sunday is Dec. 4 and the community Christmas service will be held on Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. in Londesboro Church. Personals Mrs. Diane Elliott underwent surgery on Nov. 18 in Clinton Public Hospital. Friends wish her a speedy recovery. Margaret Taylor, Elma Jewitt and Dora Shobbrook attended the Goderich Township WI meeting on Nov. 14. The Happy Gang Seniors Christmas meeting is Nov. 30 with dinner at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Wm. Hamilton of Moorefield is spen- ding a few days with his daughter Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson. Saturday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burns was daughter Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Smith of Coburg. Sunday visitors with Mrs. Dora Shobbrook were grandchildren Sheryl, Patricia, Sarah and John Milison of Woodstock. They all at- tended the shower for bride elect Myrna Scott at the home of Thelma Ellerby in Clin- ton. Also attending were Darlene Shob- brook, Joy Vodden and Olive Penfound. Michael Lyons was admitted to St. Joseph's hospital, London, on Nov. 21 for surgery. His mother Mrs. John Lyons is spending a few days with her sister Sandra Popp in London. Leonard Vodden of Paris visited on Sun- day with his brother Ken Vodden. At shuffleboard on Nov. 16 Vietta Hoggart had the ladies' high score and Laura Lyon had the low score. Les Reid was the high man and Lorne Hunking was the low score Playoff winners were: Vietta Hoggart and Lorne Hunking, Beth Knox and Reg Lawson. Shuffleboard will be played again on Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. Those present at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carter for a pre -Christmas family gathering were: Mr. and Mrs. Watson Reid and Dan of Blyth, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Arts of Seaforth, Mrs. Erika Kellar of Seaforth, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter of Simcoe, Col- leen Carter of Exeter, Mr. and Mrs. Kevan Broome of T seas, Mr. Gen. Carter and Mr. John Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Kevan Broome and Colleen Carter visited their parents, Glen and Doreen Carter this past weekend.
