Figure Skatin « Party They came out in all shapes, sizes and colors on Hallowe'en night 1983. Special parties in various communities also helped local youngsters to celebrate their favorite holiday. Cathy and Leeann Lavis of Clinton dressed as lovely Hula girls this Hallowe'en. The sisters wore authentic grass skirts from Hawaii. Shelley McPhee photos • She ended up with a wet head, a soaked shirt and an earful of water, but this young Clintonian managed to grab an apple in the water bob contest at the Clinton Figure Skating Hallowe'en Party. The dripping hobo was sure there would be a few stern words from mom, but the apple was worth the dunking. (Shelley McPhee photo) This year even orange pumpkins joined the Smurf fad. This smiling Smurf pumpkin wore the well known Smurf hat and long yellow braids. Bobbing for apples at a Hallowe'en party just about finished this poor little kitty eat. Missing front teeth were a disadvantage in this game. Ellen Humphrey, left, won a prize for the funniest costume at the Clinton Figure Skating Club Hallowe'en r..rty.
