Registration in figure skating and power skating was down. Seventy-four skaters, two-thirds of last year's number, will be in- volved in junior, in- termediate, power and senior skating. Barb Howson said that the decrease in registration in the skating could be at- tributed to rising costs for larger families. Mrs. Howson explained that it's getting too ex- pensive for larger families to put their children into both figure, power skating and minor hockey. Girl's Ringette only had nine players register. Initially, Mrs. MacDonald had hoped to form two teams that would play in the WOAA. Only three more players are needed to form one team. All girls between the ages of eight and 18 are welcomed to register.
