George McBride of RR 5, Goderich, a member of the Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association for many years, showed the skill and strength used to hand saw wood in a contest held at the Thresher Reunion on Saturday. The big wheels rolled round the track at the Blyth Community Park at daily parades held at the three day Thresher Reunion. The parades showed the steam engines, old tractors, cars, horses, the Clinton and Mount Forest Pipe Bands. The Blyth Arena was filled with a record number of craft booths for the weekend Thresher Reunion. Linda and Cindy Visser of Dublin, Julie Agar of Seaforth and Christina Visser of Dublin are seen here studying one of the many tables of handcrafted items. Crowds at the Thresher Reunion watched on as the giant saw easily cut through logs. The lumber rotting operation was powered by steam.
