Mr. and Mrs. James M. Watt
James M. Watt of Londesboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie
Watt of R.R. 1 Blyth and Tammy E. Larsen, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. F. Larsen of Goderich, were married in
Londesboro by the Reverend Stan McDonald and the
Reverend Colin Swan on July 9. Maid of honor was Sharon
Moriarty of R.R. 2 Bayfield. Bridesmaids were Karen
Dechert of R.R. 2 Goderich and Barbara Conlon and
Heather K. Larsen, both of Goderich. Flowergirl was
Katherine A. Larsen Jr. of Goderich. Groomsman was
Warren Watt of Goderich and ushers were Tim Robinson
of Sudbury and Steve Lowe of Burlington. Following the
wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the White
Carnation in Holmesville. After a wedding trip to Toronto
and Niagara Falls, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Watt took up

New jobs in Wingham
Agriculture Minister
Eugene Whelan and Ontario
Minister of Natural
Resources Alan Pope an-
nounced that the Ausable-
Bayfield Conservation
Authority will receive
$107,787 for a job creation
project in the Wingham
District.
In making the announce-
ment on behalf of Employ-
ment and Immigration
Minister Lloyd AAxworthy,
Mr. Whelan said; "the pro-
ject will provide a total of 241
weeks of work for 15 area
unemploymen insurance
claimants."'.
"This job cr tion project
is scheduled to last for a
period of 20 weeks", Mr.
' Pope said. Participants will
remove slash and logging
debris to facilitate proper
management of water levels
and habitat. This debris
will be piled and then
, covered with earth to create
waterfowl nesting islands."
Section 38 of the
Unemployment Act provides
for the use of UI funds to sup-
port activities that allow UI
claimants to use their skills
while they are unemployed.
The Canada Employment
and Immigration Commis-
sion will pay each worker up
to $240 a week from UI funds,
while money provided by the
Ministry of Natural
Resources will top up wages
by $60 a week for each job
the project creates. The
Natural Resources Ministry
will also cover administra-
tion and benefit costs. The
two departments will con-
tribute $57,840 and $49,947
respectively to the project.

was given by Laura Lyon.
Happy Birthday was sung
for Hattie Wood.

has been cancelled. At the
October 11 meeting Group 2
will be in charge.
Jane Swan is the Burns
delegate to the Alma
College School for Women of
London Conference on
August 23 to 25.
The study was taken by
Addie Hunking. Lunch was
served by Addie Hunking.

Elwood Mitchell returned
home after spending a few
days in Stratford hospital
having minor surgery.

Lyon, Brad and Deanna
returned home from two
week's vacation. They flew
to Calgary, then toured
Banff and visited the West
Coast, Vancouver and
Victoria. They visited Mr.
and Mrs. John Balmer at
Camrose, Alberta.

Goderich and Michael Vieria
off Toronto visited with Mrs.
Joe Shaddick on Sunday.
