Watt of Londesboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Watt of R.R. 1 Blyth and Tammy E. Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Larsen of Goderich, were married in Londesboro by the Reverend Stan McDonald and the Reverend Colin Swan on July 9. Maid of honor was Sharon Moriarty of R.R. 2 Bayfield. Bridesmaids were Karen Dechert of R.R. 2 Goderich and Barbara Conlon and Heather K. Larsen, both of Goderich. Flowergirl was Katherine A. Larsen Jr. of Goderich. Groomsman was Warren Watt of Goderich and ushers were Tim Robinson of Sudbury and Steve Lowe of Burlington. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the White Carnation in Holmesville. After a wedding trip to Toronto and Niagara Falls, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Watt took up residence at R.R. 1 Londesboro. (Photo by Fred Bisset) New jobs in Wingham Agriculture Minister Eugene Whelan and Ontario Minister of Natural Resources Alan Pope an- nounced that the Ausable- Bayfield Conservation Authority will receive $107,787 for a job creation project in the Wingham District. In making the announce- ment on behalf of Employ- ment and Immigration Minister Lloyd AAxworthy, Mr. Whelan said; "the pro- ject will provide a total of 241 weeks of work for 15 area unemploymen insurance claimants."'. "This job cr tion project is scheduled to last for a period of 20 weeks", Mr. ' Pope said. Participants will remove slash and logging debris to facilitate proper management of water levels and habitat. This debris will be piled and then , covered with earth to create waterfowl nesting islands." Section 38 of the Unemployment Act provides for the use of UI funds to sup- port activities that allow UI claimants to use their skills while they are unemployed. The Canada Employment and Immigration Commis- sion will pay each worker up to $240 a week from UI funds, while money provided by the Ministry of Natural Resources will top up wages by $60 a week for each job the project creates. The Natural Resources Ministry will also cover administra- tion and benefit costs. The two departments will con- tribute $57,840 and $49,947 respectively to the project. Jane Swan t1. Scriptures were read by Isabel Airdrie, prayer was given by Vi Burns and a reading was given by Dora Shobbrook. Business was conducted by Helen Lawson and the minutes of the last meeting were read by Dora Shob- brook, the treasurer's report was given by Laura Lyon. Happy Birthday was sung for Hattie Wood. The Ssantr,mh r meeting has been cancelled. At the October 11 meeting Group 2 will be in charge. Jane Swan is the Burns delegate to the Alma College School for Women of London Conference on August 23 to 25. The study was taken by Addie Hunking. Lunch was served by Addie Hunking. Isabel Airdire, Vi Burns and Dora Shobbrook. Personals Visitors last week with Mrs. Jean Scott were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Scott of Escondido, California. Miss Marilyn Senn, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Scott Jr. and daughter Kim of Prince Edward Island. Darrell Shobbrook and Earl Johnston returned home on Wednesday from a two week vacation trip to Greenwood N.S. visiting relatives. Miss Gladys Ross of Hamilton visited two days last week with Miss Edythe Beacom. Patricia Millson of Woodstock visited her grandmother. Mrs. Dora Shobbrook returned home Saturday night. Darren is visiting this week. A miscellaneous shower ro at conference was held August 11 at the home of Bev. Riley by Bev. and her sister Janice Eveleigh for John Ball family relations for Terry Merner bride -elect for September 16 to Brian McGregor. There were 30 present from London, Mitchell, Goderich, Clinton and Londesboro. Friends are glad to know Elwood Mitchell returned home after spending a few days in Stratford hospital having minor surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Lyon, Brad and Deanna returned home from two week's vacation. They flew to Calgary, then toured Banff and visited the West Coast, Vancouver and Victoria. They visited Mr. and Mrs. John Balmer at Camrose, Alberta. Miss Debbie Shaddick of Goderich and Michael Vieria off Toronto visited with Mrs. Joe Shaddick on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Lawrie, Rob and Jennifer of Kit- chener spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Hunking and Mrs. Clara Riley attended the 25th wedding anniversary for Jim and Delphine ( Honking Dewar of Atwood on August 13. Birthday party held in Belgrave By Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse Mrs. Jack McBurney and her son Alan attended the wedding of her son Grant McBurney to Mary Williams on July 30 in Clementsport, Nova Scotia. Alan McBurney and his mother Mrs. Jack McBurney visited with Mr. and Mrs. Murray McDowell of Cookstown recently. Stephen and Renee McBurney of Middleton, Nova Scotia returned home with their grandmother Mrs. Jack McBurney and their uncle Alan McBurney to spend 10 days with their grandmother. Mrs. Lewis Cook was transferred from Victoria Hospital, London to Wingham and District Hospital last Thursday. Mrs. Hazel Procter is a pa- tient at Victoria Hospital, London.
