The Godesich. OPP
reported two accidents in the
Clanton area last week, one
of which caused $1,500
damage to a Bayfield's
women's vehicle.
On June 30, Laura
Clements, 44, of Bayfield
was eastbound on County
Road 3, one kilometer west
of Highway 4, when the
accident occurred.
The Clements vehicle
veered into the south ditch,
striking an embankment and
a fence.
Laura and passenger
Angela Clements received
minor injuries in the mishap.
On July 1, an accident
involving two vehicles oc-
curred on highway 21 at the
junction of Huron Road 18.
Clarance Pfeffer, 68, of
Mitchell and Cathline Hill,
22, of Bayfield were both
southbound on Highway 21
when the collision occurred.
There were no injuries in
the accident.
Damage to the Pfeifer
vehicle is estimated at $200
and $400 to the Hill vehicle.
Clinton Police Chief
reported two cases of theft
last week. On June 16 stereo
equipment and tapes were
stolen from a car owned by
Dwight Cote. His vehicle was
parked at the Elm Haven.cP
The equipment stolen was
valued at more than $600.
On June 27 a car stereo
amplifier,' speakers and
tapes were stolen from a
locked car owned by Mark
Johnston, Maple Street of
Clinton. They were valued at
$360.
Graduates
end long year
The 21st Graduation Pro-
gram was held at Clinton
. and District Christian School
on June 22.
The program was opened
with Scripture reading and
the many friends and
relatives of the students in
the audience sang. All the
students from Kindergarten
to Grade 7 participated in
the celebration by singing.
The Primary Junior and
Senior Choirs sang six
numbers. Grade 5 and 6 per-
formed a number in song
and sign language. Grade 6
and 7 did a Musical called
Joshua at Jericho.
Mr. Schurrman presented /
23 graduates with Diplomas
and Bibles. The Graduates
then sang their favorite
selection.
Judith Oskam (Sr.) and
Allison Jongejan (Jr.) were
this year's recipients of the
Ambassador Award. The
Valedictorian Jessica De
Haan gave her speech reflec-
ting the eight years spent at
Clinton and District Chris-
tian School. Mrs. Vingland
presented the History Award
to David Roorda.
Gifts were presented by
the P.T.A. and students to
Mrs. Mary Hearn who will
no longer be the choir direc-
tor next year. The
graduating students also
presented gifts to Mr.
Schurrman, Mr. Bos, Mr.
Uyl, Mrs. Hearn and Mrs.
Bruinsma. The program was
closed in prayer by chair-
man of the Board, Bert
Dykstra.
Everyone was invited to
join in the Strawberry Social
after the program.

The 4-H Agricultural
Machinery Club from
Clinton met June 16, at the
farm of Mac and Joan
Stewart a'nd family.
Clarence Dale, a mechanic
and shop foreman from
Vincent's Farm Equipment
of Seaforth, showed the Up
Keep and Up Time of an
International 1086 tractor.
He began at the front and
went to the back of the
tractor explaining the Up
Time of the parts of the
tractor. Some of the
mechanisms he explained
where the radiator, alter-
nator, air filter, draining
water from the Fuel tank,
bleeding fuel lines and
filters, air conditioners,
which will lose the tractor
approximately 5 HP,
hydraulic systems, correct
tire pressure and the Owners
Manual which is the owners
best tool.
After this memberA saw a
film on the same procedures.
When the film was finished,
Leader, Allan Haugh in-
troduced host Mac Stewart.
Mac explained his way of
managing his farm and how
he went about changing from
beef to Cash crop farthing.
Appreciation was shown
to the Stewart Family in the
usual 4-1-1 way. Hot dogs, pop
and cookies were enjoyed by
all, compliments of our host.
