pass bylaws
Accounts totalling over
8243,000 were ordered paid
when Goderich Township
Council met December 7. Of
this amount, $62,303 was for
Huron County taxes; $118,854
was for Huron County Board
of Education taxes; $10,345
was for tile debentures; and
$35,000 was for tile drain
loans.
By-law 21, a bylaw for
setting the salaries and
remunerations for 1982, was
given three readings and
passed.
By-law 22, a by-law to
appoint certain persons to
fill and execute various
offices in 1982, was given two
readings and passed as such:
Henry Centen . of R.J.
Burnside and Associates was
present at the council
meeting to outline his
company's abilities to fill
and perform various ac-
tivities such as municipal
drains. No, motions were
recorded regarding this.
A request for a land
severance submitted by L.G.
Hughes of Plan 13 was dealt
with as per questionaire.
Applications for tile drain
loans from R.E. Thompson
for lot 23, concession 15 and
from R.S. Thompson for lots
17 and 18, concession 15 were
approved by council subject
to the availability of loan
funds.
Huron County P''nning
Department requested a
time when it could meetwith
council to review the entire
zoning by-law. Council
passed a motion to meetwith
the department on January 5
at 1: 30 p.m.
C.R Kier and R. Kelly
were present to discuss a
sub dividers agreement for
the sub -division on part lot
20, concession 1. The
proposed agreement was
reviewed in detail and a
number' of changes were
suggested with Mr. Kiar to
re -draft the agreement and
submit it again to council.
Mr. H. Oakes was present
to protest the share cost
apportioned to him for the
repairs done on the Tebbutt-
Merrill Drain. Council
reviewed the drain report
and passed a motion that H.
Oakes' assessment be
reduced by $60 and that this
$60 be levied a :y: inst the
remaining owners in the
same proportion as the
initial Main Drain
assessment.
Building permits were
issued to Thomas Penhale
for a storage shed on part lot
4, Base Line; Jake Petersfor
an implement shed on lot 88,
Maitland Concession; and
Martin Van den Berg to
demolish a shed on lot 99,
Maitland Concession.
Council then adjourned
until December 21 at 1 p.m.
1982 licence
stickers
on sale
Red 1982 motor vehicle
licence stickers go on sale
Tuesday, December 1 at 310
licence issuing offices
throughout the province,
Minister of Transportation
and Communications James
Snow has announced.
There will be no increases
in fees: for a four -
cylinder car, $45 for a six,.
and $60 for an eight with an
engine replacement of less
than 6.5 litres.
Owners of eight -cylinder
cars with an engine displace-
ment of more than 6.5 litres,
registered after December 1,
1977, pay $80.
Trailer registration, now
valid for the life of the vehi-
cle, remains at the one-time
fee of $25.
Motorcycle and moped
registration stickers remain
at $20 and $5, respectively.
Sticker fees for privately -
owned passenger cars and
motorcycles in the northern
part of the province remain
at $10.
Fees for snowmobiles and
historic vehicles are $10,
anywhere in Ontario.
To obtain a sticker,
motorists are asked to fill
out a licence renewal form
available at all licence -
issuing outlets, MTC offices
and Ontario LCBO stores.
Information relating to the
owner and vehicle, and pro-
viding for a declaration of
proof of insurance is re-
quired.
All non-commercial
vehicles must have a valid
licence by midnight,
February 28, 1962 if they are
to be driven in Ontario.
