Exeter Co-op sales
go over $5 million
EXETER - The fiscal year
1981 was very successful for
the Exeter District Co-
operative with sales
reaching an all-time high of
more than $51 million
dollars. Sales increased 24
per cent from a year ago and
savings were listed at
$118,716, up $27,801 from last
Yea'• .
Manager Derwood Braith-
waite said, "Increased sales
is the major factor that has
enabled savings to remain at -
about the same level as last
year and it is a tribute to the
support given by members
and patrons, especially when
you consider the economic
climate we have experienced
in 1981.”
Mr. Braithwaite noted that
the Co-operative has taken
major steps during the year
to assure continued growth
in services to its members.
One was the installation of
the tower fertilizer blender
which provides increased
output capacity along with
the ability to mix micro-
nutrients into fertilizer. The
other major addition was the
installation of a com-
puterized accounting system
which has provided savings
in labor.
Middleton girl
reports in
Ottawa
It was, even by Ottawa
standards, an unusual
display, says Monday's
Globe and Mail The Ottawa
Citizen last week did a full-
page color spread on the
remaking of Jean Argue,
wife of Senator Hazen Argue,
a Liberal Cabinet minister.
The story told how Mrs.
Argue, on the advice of a
Citizen fashion columnist,
remodelled her wandrobe,
hair style and makeup to
keep pace with her new
lifestyle.
Keeping it all in the family
is that the writer of the ar-
ticle, staff reporter Janice
Middleton, is the wife of Paul
Brettle, press assistant to
Senator Argue.
Tom Jorgensen, leader of the Huron 4-0 Rabbit Club, is

prominently at the 4-11 Awards Night in Clinton, he also
won the Old Mill Award for his involvement in the 4-11
