She welcomed the members and read an article "Achieve - • ,t". Mrs. Robert Bell acted as secretary, while Mrs. Charles Eyre was co - hostess, and Mrs. Campbell Eyre conducted the program which began . with a singsong. Mrs. Vern Alder - dice gave the motto, "Just when you think you have got both ends to meet, somebody moves the ends." Mrs. Jack Sinclair in- troduced the guest speaker, Wm. Strong, who showed an interesting film produced by the bean growers marketing board to educate people in other areas on the growing, cultivation and harvesting of beans. There is a great potential for growing dif- ferent ifferent kinds of beans. Mr. Strong was thanked by Mrs. Sinclair, who presented each of the ladies with a bean recipe book and a bag of beans. Mrs. Alex McGregor contributed a poem. During the business por- tion, reports were heard on the area convention in St. Marys, the rally, and the Elimville party, by Mrs. Drummond. Plans were finalized for the Christmas party, and each group is to provide enough food for 20. Mrs. Ross Broadfoot gave current events and courtesy remarks. Mrs. Stewart Pepper con- ducted a contest, and lunch was served by the hostesses, , Mrs. R. Bell and Mrs. E. Whitehouse. Personals . Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer McGregor, Sault Ste. Marie, . spent last week with Mrs. Will McGregor and their relatives in the area. All roads led to the "Royal" in Toronto last week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert. Greg Hoggarth, Paul Hog- garth, Bill Kinsman and Lyle Kinsman showed calves in the Queen's Guineas Class at the Royal Winter Fair. Mr. Ron Rumble and son Stephen of Toronto visited relatives in the area last -weekend. Brncefield social notes By Isabel Scott The sympathy of the com- munity is expressed to the family of Mrs. Tom Calwill. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cameron of Oshawa visited with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brock and Mr. J. K. Cornish at Bluewater Nursing Home. Mr. Ronald Ellis and his son Barry are spending the whiter months with his mother, Mrs. Velma Ellis. Barry will be attending Huron Centennial School. Mr. Wilfrid Ross received word of the death of his grandson Kenneth, aged 18 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ross of Mississauga. Kenneth died as the result of a car accident when four other youths were killed along Highway 403. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters. New grocery for Exeter EXETER - A plan to build a large grocery outlet in downtown Exeter was presented to the town council recently. Michael Morrish, a sales representative for Royal Trust, said he had a client interested in erecting a 15,000 square foot grocery store for a major chain and said the total transaction involved in the land pur- chase and erection of the store was in the neigh- borhood of $1,000,000.
