On the evening of
November 9, members and
friends of the Goderich
Township Women's Institute
(WI) held their meeting at
"The Gallery", the home of
Mrs. Lida McAlister at RR1
Bayfield.
President, Millie Dempsey
chaired the meeting and
Bernice McIlwain read the
minutes and gave the.
treasurer's 'report. A thank
you card was received from
the Orr family. All present
observed one minute's
silence in memory of Mrs.

and 6. The roll call was
answered by naming
something that is free.
Marian Powell, convener
of education and cultural ac-
tivities introduced Lida
McAlister who spoke about
the "Arts". After the
meeting everyone went to
her studio - where the walls
were lined with numerous
pencil sketches of her work.
She explained the different
techniques of her artistry.
After a tour of her three level
home we returned to the
family room where Effie
Yeo, co -convener presented
Lida with a gift and thanked
her for her hospitality after
which lunch and coffee were
served and a social time was
enjoyed by all.
On December 14 a pot luck
dinner will be held at 7 p.m.
