Her only jewelry was a
Cameo and pearl pendant
which had belonged to her
great grandmother Keys,
while her gold' earrings had
belonged to her great grand-
mother McClinchey. She
carried a bouquet of silk,
wine coloured roses, pink
and white daisies, pink
rosebuds and baby's breath,
with a spray of wine roses
and pink ribbon hanging
from the bouquet.
The maid of honour, Gayle
Keys, sister of the bride,
wore a wine floor -length, two
piece gown in lustre glow'
polyester. The bodice
featured tiny pleats with
spaghetti straps, and it had a
hip length jacket with over
the shoulder sleeve. On the
front of the bodice and edge
of the sleeves were em-
broidered appliques, the
gathered skirt had a mat-
ching
atching belt tied in front. She
carried a bouquet of silk pink
roses, wine daisies and
baby's breath with pink rib-
bon.
Bridesmaids were Mrs.
llonnie Mothers and Liz
McIntosh, both of Clinton,
who wore identical dresses
and carried identical flowers
as those of the maid of
honour. The flowergirl was
Jessica Miners, niece of the.
groom from Toronto, who
wore a pink eyelet dress and
pink ballet slippers, and car
ried a small basket of silk
pink and White roses and
daisies. Ringbearer was
Trevor-Mathers of Clinton.
Best man was John Ander-
son of London, and ushers
were Jim Miners of Toronto,
' brother of the groom, and
Randy Keys, Clinton,
brother of the bride. -
- The mother of the bride,
who received guests, wore a
street length dress of cadet
blue with accordion pleats
adorning one side of the
wrap bodice and on the
diagonal over -skirt. She
wore a corsage of pink roses.
The mother of the groom
assisted wearing a street
length dress of figured teal
blue with long sleeves and
:Sheer Matching' jacket with
mauve orchid corsage:,
The dinar ilia ,held' in the
Church hall With guests pre-
sent from Aylmer, Tillson-
burg, Michigan, Saskat-
chewan, Brockville, London,
Clinton, Varna, Bayfield and
Brucefield.
Afterthe reception at Hen-
sall Community Centre, the
couple left on a short honey-
moon to Bemnillller Inn. The
couple are bow residing in
Brucefield.
Prior . to the wedding,
showers were held at the
home of Bonnie Mathers
with help of Liz McIntosh for
the kitchen staff of Huron -
view; shower for relatives at
the home of Mrs. Alice Bran-
don, Bayfield; and at the
home of Mrs. Valier Mair a
shower for the neighbours.

October 14. Be Was 77.
Mr. Atkey, who had suf-
fered a stroke three years
ago from which he never
-fully reco'ered, was
publisher of the News -
Record from 1945 when he
bought into the paper along
with partner Herman L.
Tomlinson, who left the
paper the following year.
In 1948, M. Atkey took
over sole proprietorship of
the paper and ran itunt81952
When it sold it to Frank and
Harry McEwan. He then
moved to Arnprior Where he
purchased , and ran The
Chronicle until 1965 when he
sold out to Thompson and
moved back to Clinton.
Mr. Atkey was born in
Oxenden, Ontario on.
February 24, 1904 and
graduated from . Victoria
College of the University of
Toronto in 1925. His
newspaper career included
stints at The Barrie
Examiner and The Daily
Commercial News of
Toronto.
In 1934, he manned the
former. Margaret G. Baines
in Toronto and she survives
hire. He was a ' member of
Wesley -Willis United Church
of Clinton.
As well, he was an active
member of the Clinton lions
club, the Canadian . Power
Squadron and the Goderich
Power Squadron, where he
attained the rank of Junior
Navigator.
He was a member of the
Masonic Lodge of Clinton
and an active member of the
Progressive Conservative
party.
Besides his wife, he is
survived by one sister Marie,
Mrs. Raymond W. Hughes of
Goderich; three nephews,
the former honorable Ronald
Atkey of Toronto, John
Hughes of Atwood and
James Atkey of Winnipeg;
and four nieces, Jane Atkey
of Toronto, Nancy Graham.
of Goderich, Ant► Leeland of
Winnipeg, and Allison Atkey
of Saskatoon.
He was predeceased by
-two brothers, Osborne L and
J. Maxwell Atkey.
The Clinton Lions Club
held a memorial service on
Friday evening, October 16,
and the funeral service was
held on October 17 from the
Beattie Funeral Home.
Interment was in Bayview
Cemetery in Wiarton.
Pallbearers were Ronald
Atkey, John Hughes, John
Wise, Beecher Menzies,
Ralph Smith, and John
Graham. Honorary
pallbearers were Dr. Harold
Smith of Barrie, Kenneth
Walls of Barrie, Bert
Gliddon, Stewart Middleton,
and Doug Bartliff, all of
Clinton, and Dr. R.W.
Hughes of Goderich.

She is also survived by a

Forest Russell McClure of
Goderich died in Alexandra
Marine rind General Hospital
on Monday, October 12 at the
age of 89.
He was born in Winthrop,
Ontario on October 11,1892 to
John and Matilda (McClure)
Burke.
He lived and farmed in
Goderich Township until
moving to Goderich in 1962.
He was a former member
of Riverston L.O.L, no.145
and an honorary director of
the Bayfield. Agricultural
Society. He was also a
member of Victoria Street
United Church, Goderich

Funeral services were

19th at the Beattie Funeral
Home in Clinton for the late
Grace E. Thompson of
Brucefield. Rev. Robert
McMullen was in charge of
the service and interment
followed in Baird's
Cemetery in Stanley
Township.
Mrs. Thompson died in
Clinton Public Hospital on
October 17th following a
three year illness. She was 73
years old.
The former Grace E.
Pepper was born in Horn-
castle, England on January
11, 1908 to William and Annie

Township for five years, and
following her April 12, 1932
marriage to Elgin Thom-
pson, made her home with
her husband in Tuckersmith
Township.
Mrs. Thompson was a
member of the Amber
Rebekah Lodge 349, and
served on the Clinton Fair
Board. She was also a
member of the Brucefield
United Church,
Along with her husband,
Mrs. Thompson is survived
by two children, Gordon at
Huronview and Lorne of RR
1, Brucefield. Also surviving
are five grandchildren.
One sister, Mrs. George
(Molly) Pinkney of
Walkerton survives Mrs.
Thompson and one sister
Mrs. Aldie (Doreen)
Mustard and a brother
William Pepper predeceased
her.
Mabel Munn
Mrs. Mabel Annie (Swan)
Nunn of Hensall died at
South Huron Hospital in
Exeter on Wednesday,
October 14th. She was in her
98th year.
Mrs. Munn was
predeceased by her husband,
Edgar, who died in 1978. She
is survived by one daughter
Mrs. Don (Aileen) Gooding
A Parkhill and Mrs. Fred
Johnston of Napanee. Three
randchildren, Debby, Don
and Dale of Parkhill and
three great grandchildren
also survive.
Mrs. Munn was a member
A the Carmel Presbyterian
Church, the WMS and the
Ladies Aid. She was also a
member of the Hensall
Ladies Legion Auxiliary and
before her marriage, she
was organist at the
Brucefield Church.
Funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Kenneth
Knight on October 16th at the
Bonthron Funeral Chapel of
the Michael P. O'Connor
Funeral Home. Interment
