Architect Nick Hill has a
Business Improvement Area
proposal he will present to
Hensall council on October
26 at 7:30 p.m. Councillor
Dick Packham informed
council of this at last week's
regular council meeting and
outlined the minutes of the
Hensall Business
Improvement Association
meeting held September 24.
Huron County planner
Roman Dzus and George
Lazinko from the ministry ofm
housing both recomended
only a portion of Hensall be
designated a BIA in their
meeting with the business
people, saying that to
designate the whole village
would include too many
businesses which might not
benefit by the classification.
It has been indicated the
area to be designated will
include the area along High-
way 84 from Highway 4 to
west of the CNR tracks and
to the north and south of the
main street to include the
mills.
When prodded by Reeve
Paul Neilands on what the
BIA proposals would cost,
Packham said the price that
has been hinted at is between
$70,000 and $75,000.
In another matter, council
changed a recent bylaw
concerning peddlars and
hawkers. Rather than pay a
fee of $200 for a licence,
peddlars and hawkers will
now be required to pay $100
per year and the bylaw won't
come into effect until
January 1,1982.
CHILDREN RIDING
ON TRACTORS
Farmers should think
twice before they allow their
children on • tractors. The
number of children killed on
Weldon is increasing each
year in Ontario. In fact,
nearly 20 percent of all
equipment -related fatalities
involve children under the
age or fifteen '
