Sunday School IQ °%g well and adhere are some new children �hls past Sunday which was good to see. We would still welcome all other children to take,part. Parents, we are collecting used stamps to buy school books and Bibles for children in deprived countries. If you could save all the used stamps and send them with your children on Sunday morning it would be ap- preciated very much. The Women's Bible Study group will, begin on Wednes- day, October 14 at 10 a.m. so bring your children for playtime. Coffee will be served. Alateen The Alateen group meeting every Sunday even- ing at 7 p.m. in the Vanastra Christian Church. Lioness club plans bazaar The Vanastra and District Lioness Club will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar this year on Satur- day, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vanastra Recreation Centre. We would like to welcome anyone who wishes to put a table in the bazaar whether it be for crafts, sewing, bak- ing, etc. The charge for a table in the bazaar will be $5 or 10 percent of whatever amount you make - whichever amount is the least. If you would like to put a table in the bazaar please Hockey player's future is bright_ MITCHELL - The future of Mitchell native Doug Chessell appears to be very bright following his ap- pearance at the Chicago Black Hawks training camp for the past two weeks. Doug's mother, Mrs. Bruce Chessell, said her son reported he had the lowest goals -against average at the camp of any rookie goalie,. and he will be invited back next year. For the next eight months, Doug will be sharing the goaltending duties with the London Knights with Frank Caprice. Doug was a Knight's rookie last year and was taken m the fifth round of the National Hockey League draft of amateurs last June tby the Black Hawks. contact June Jeacock at 482- 3881 by October 31st at the latest. This week they are learning about different foods for Thanksgiving and the colors red and green. They are also learning to identify boys and girls. There is still a need for volunteers for one morning a week from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., so if you are interested please call Day Nursery at the Vanastra Rec. Centre, e • Next week at the Vanastra Recreation Centre is "Bring A Friend" week (Oct. 12th to Oct. 18th). For this week on- ly members of any fitness or swim classes, can bring friend to participate in the class they are involved in. This will give people a chance to show what they are doing and learn at the Centre. Your instructor will have More details. Alsofor our "Bring a Friend" week we are allow- ing you a chance to bring a friend to Open Recreation Swims. If you pick up a pass from the snack bar this week it will get a friend in swimm- ing with you. You and a friend get in two for the price of one.
