Clinton Est
4-H club meet
The second meeting of the
Clinton 1st 4-H Club was held
September 24th at St. Paul's
Anglican Church. Members
present were Lisa Robinson,
Tina Balfour, Angela Gower,
Joy Taylor, Melissa Broad -
foot and leader Carol Ed-
wards. Lisa Robinson, the
president started the
meeting.
All cut apart a chicken
each and had some laughs
while they were at it and
learned what was to be put in
the stock pot, ways of cook-
ing chicken ex. frying,
roasting, stewing, etc., ways
of keeping the chicken moist
when broiling. They also
learned how you could cook a
stewing, roaster, and
broiling -fryer hen.
All did the hen party quiz
and then played a guessing
game, followed by prepara-
tion of Niagara Nice 'n'
Spicy chicken which they
had for a treat to eat at the.
end of the meeting. -by Lisa
Robinson.
Meeting three of the Clin-
ton 4-11 group was held at the
home of Angela Gower on
Oct.1.
All then went to the kit-
chen to prepare the Eg-
gonomical Quiche, and talk-
ed about egg shells and their
contents. Carol clearly
demonstrated the difference
between a stale and fresh
egg inside and out.
They also labelled the
diagram, in their books, of
parts of an egg and read
orally; "Eggs need T.L.C."
and "Don't be a Rotten Egg"
before the meeting was
ajourned.
They closed the meeting
with the decision of a name
for the club in our minds and
a reminder that the next
meeting is held at Lisa
Robinson's on Oct. 8.
The group then went to the
kitchen to enjoy the delicious
quiche and some
refreshments. We thanked
Angela and her Mom for the
use of their home. - by
