They won first prize . for their float in the Seaforth Fair. The children enjoyed themselves very much at the Fair. Special Nursery The children in special nursery are going swimming this week. There is still a need for volunteers in the morning from 8:30 to 11:30 am. If you are interested please call the Day Nursery at the Rec. Centre. Cubs Colin Thomas was presented with his Swimm- ing Badge which he earned at Camp Sylvan last Year. Thanks to Clem Goulding, a Kim Hodgins and Jeff Dixon for supplying transportation, and to everyone who donated to our bottle drive. If anyone still wishes to have their son register for cubs it can be done on Mon- days at the meeting or con- tact Jim or Meryl Thomas at 482-9467. We are welcoming three new teachers to the school, Mrs. Kruzel, Mrs. Strang and Mrs. Pletsch. Exciting new learning experiences have already gotten into full sw- ing with many more planned for the near future. Our school will be decorating the display board at the Administration Centre early in October. We are all very excited about this. Cross Country has already Lioness. Xmas Bazaar planned The Vanastra—and District Lioness Club will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar this year on Satur- day, November 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vanastra Rec. Centre. We would like to welcome anyone who wishes to put a table in the bazaar whether it be for crafts, sewing, bak- ing etc. The charge for a table in the bazaar will be $5 or 10 per cent of whatever you make - which ever amount is the least. If you would like to put a table in the bazaar please contact June Jeacock at 482- 3881 by Oct. 31st at the latest. started at the school, and Mr. Nicholls is anticipating a record turn out for this extra curricular elective. If you are able to help please call the school 182-7828 any weekday. Last week, we borrowed about 300 new titles from the Huron County Library in Goderich. They are certainly a welcome addition to our library shelves. Parents are reminded that tomorrow is a Professional Activity Day. There will be no regular classes on Fri- day, Oct. 2nd. Teachers will be involved in curriculum review. Parents are invited to come up to the school at any time to communicate with the teachers. A formal open house will be held in October but early private communication is very often the key to a child's success at the Elementary School Level. Clarence Heida from Stratford C.R.C. was there for the last time since his term is up. Art Schruiders from Stratford will be taking his place as elder from Stratford. The next meeting will be held Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. Christian Counselling for Huron County will have a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. in the Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton. There was a good turnout for .Sunday School this past Sunday. We invite more children to come at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Come Alive will begin on Tuesday Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The new superintendent will be Hilda Visser. There will be a film and refreshments for all children from the age of 5 to 14 on opening night.
