Sorority to help at blood clinic
Service projects, one
important aspect of Beta
Sigma Phi, were much in
evidence when Xi Epsilon
Beta met September 22 at
the home of Ann Adams.
Blood donor sheets were
distributed for the October 6
clinic. Members will be
phoning potential donors by
October 5.
Vivienne Roy, president,
reminded members that she
would be presenting an art
scholarship to Cathy Lep-
pington on behalf .of the two
Clinton Soroity chapters at
Commencement. This is
planned to be a yearly
project.

4-H news
by Rena Caldwell
The first meeting of 4-H
girls club was held at the
home of the leader, Mrs. Al
Hoggarth on September 15.
The following officers were
chosen: president, Julie
Wright; vice-president
Kathy Finlayson; secretary]
Joan. Binnendyk; press
reporter, Lisa Hoornaert.
A name was chosen "Chic -
Chicken Chess" and the
lesson consisted of learning
how to cut up a chicken.
Refreshments were also
served.
The second meeting was
held at the assistant leader's
home, Mrs. Gary Finlayson
on Sept. 22 when four recipes
using chicken were tried.
Mrs. Tom Burke, Wrox-
eter, visited with her sister,
Mrs. W. L. Mellis.
Mrs. Vivian Cooper is
visiting at Grand Prairie,
Alberta.
Marj Dobson asked if the
chapter would organize a
children's contest during the
Harvest of Values Promotion
sponsored by the Clinton
B.I.A. October 17. The
members agreed and details
will be worked out later.
The Creative Circle party
was very successful and
raised $99 for service
projects.
Another important aspect
of Beta Sigma Phi, the
social, , was not forgotten.
Members will go to a movie
October 6, and at the next
meeting on October '13, the
'chapter will have dinner first
at the B Fo tain, while
on October a members
will go on a shopping spree in
Toronto. Attendance at a
Christmas dance at the
Goderich Township. Hall is
also planned.
Acknowledgement was
received from the Inter-
national Office, in the form
of a lovely certificate, that
Xi Epsilon Beta was a three -
star chapter, the highest,.
rating, last year. This in-
spired members to plan to
make this year even more
successful.

After hearing her interesting

dinner meeting! Brenda
awarded a basket of fresh
