can first, the chicken or the

Classes will begin Sept. 15
at 7:15 p.m. at the home of

interested in taking the club,
contact either of the leaders.
The Kippen East W.I. will
meet at the home of Mrs.
Wm. Bell on Sept. 16.
Mildred Chalmers is in
charge of lunch while Agnes
Eyre has the motto Mrs.
Theo Wisch is the speaker.
The bean harvest is stalled
in a sea of mud after 11 days
of rain and warm tem-
peratures.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
Taylor, Nancy, Don and Mr.
and Mrs. R M. Scott of
Seaforth enjoyed a three-
week holiday touring New
Brunswick; P.E.I. , Nova
Scotia, Maine, and Cape Cod.
The lobster and scallop crop
was extremely good this
year.
The Maritimes had a cold,
wet spring, but all the crops
look good and they are
starting to harvest.
Misses Kelly and Lori
Collins visited a few days
last week with their Aunt,
Miss Hazel Collins,
Hamilton. They were ac-
companied by their mother,
Mrs. Jim Collins, and
grandmother, Mrs. Ray
Foster. Clinton.
UCW meets
The Brucefield United
Church Women held their
general meeting on Sept. 1 in
the church meeting room.
The worship and meditation
were taken by Mrs. Evelyn
McBeath, Mrs. Eileen
McGregor and Mrs. Donna
McBeath. Mrs. D. McBeath
also presided at the piano for
thesinging of the hymns.
