Queensway Residents Entertained Mrs. Shirley Luther con- ducted worship at Queensway Manor last week. Mr. and Mrs. A. Bates visited Mrs. Scrymegour. Dirk, Marie, Grene and Don Rozendal visited Mrs. Alice Rozendal. Kay Cockwell visited with Irma Wilds. Chester Dunn visited Mrs. Lammie. Mrs. McNaughton visited with her husband Peter. Mrs. Finkbeiner spent Sunday & Monday at her son's at Crediton. Mary Parlmer visited over the holiday with her sister Mrs. Thomson. Mrs. Wilds visited on Sunday with her daughter in London. Peter McNaughton celebrated his birthday on Sunday September 6th. On Wednesday Sept. 2 the Ladies from the Mennonite Church, Zurich, entertained the residents with Bingo and served coffee and cookies. On Thursday Mr. Mathonia and his musical group enter- tained the residents with music and entertainment. Kippen this week By Rena Caldwell Irene Finlayson and Margaret Hoggarth attended training school last Wed- nesday and Thursday for the up -coming 4H Club, "Which can first, the chicken or the egg." Classes will begin Sept. 15 at 7:15 p.m. at the home of the • leader Marga ret Hoggarth, and any girls interested in taking the club, contact either of the leaders. The Kippen East W.I. will meet at the home of Mrs. Wm. Bell on Sept. 16. Mildred Chalmers is in charge of lunch while Agnes Eyre has the motto Mrs. Theo Wisch is the speaker. The bean harvest is stalled in a sea of mud after 11 days of rain and warm tem- peratures. Brucefielders see the sea Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Taylor, Nancy, Don and Mr. and Mrs. R M. Scott of Seaforth enjoyed a three- week holiday touring New Brunswick; P.E.I. , Nova Scotia, Maine, and Cape Cod. The lobster and scallop crop was extremely good this year. The Maritimes had a cold, wet spring, but all the crops look good and they are starting to harvest. Misses Kelly and Lori Collins visited a few days last week with their Aunt, Miss Hazel Collins, Hamilton. They were ac- companied by their mother, Mrs. Jim Collins, and grandmother, Mrs. Ray Foster. Clinton. UCW meets The Brucefield United Church Women held their general meeting on Sept. 1 in the church meeting room. The worship and meditation were taken by Mrs. Evelyn McBeath, Mrs. Eileen McGregor and Mrs. Donna McBeath. Mrs. D. McBeath also presided at the piano for thesinging of the hymns. Mrs. Beatrice Stoll. U.C.W. president. was in charge of the business. assisted by the secretary. Mrs. Barbara Moffatt. The treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Marjory Broadfoot, and the correspondence read by Mrs. Jean Henderson - A letter from the foster child was read by Mrs. Moffatt, and the regional meeting was announced for October 8 at Walton Church. It was decided to have a dessert euchre and bake sale on October 14 A donation was made to the Rathwells as a result of their barn fire, and lunch was served by the Tucker - smith group.
