The winners were Merl Elliott, Dora Warwick and Don Menhenet, 2nd place went to Florie Oddleifson, Mike Mora rity and Jerry Stirling. A regular two ball will be held Sept. 1 and the two -ball championship the climax of Garden Club gets 154 members As announced in the paper last week, August 31st was the last day for taking up membership in order to obtain the club premium bulbs. The response has exceeded all former efforts and the Garden Club now boasts a membership of 154'. Anglican Church News Trinity Church Anglican Church Women will be meeting again after the summer break on Thursday, September 3rd. The meeting is to be held in the Parish Hall and the guest speaker will be Mrs. Phyllis Good - wins, the Executive. Director of St. Monica House, Waterloo. Clan Gregor Apartments Mr. John Marks is the latest resident to move into the apartments where he seems to he settling in very happily. His beautiful display of flowers decorating his balcony have already been admired by residents and visitors alike. Mr. Ray Schell is' still in hospital in London where he has recently undergone surgery, but he is reported on as making good progress. Two other residents, Mr. and Mrs. Goldie Smith, were involved in a road accident last week, in which both of them received injuries. They were admitted to Clinton . Hospital and it is hoped that they will soon recover and be back with their friends. Lioness News The Bayfield Lioness Club executive met on Wed- .nesday, 'August 26th in the municipal building. - The treasurer reported a good year ° and that over $4,000 has been turned over to the arena fund, this Lioness year. As well they have supported other charities and causes. • Banquet Chairman Elaine -reported that there are three banquets to be catered in the near future. Many thanks to Jack and Joan Merner who opened up their home for six weeks, to a Japanese youngster on the Lions exchange program. He enjoyed Canada- and didn't want to leave. On Wednesday., September• 2nd at 7 pm, the Lioness will meet for their dinner meeting at the Captain's Cove.
