By Blanche Deevea
In Holmesville Church on
Sunday morning Marty and
Hugh Lobb and their
children Gregory, Sherie,
and Nancy sang He Loves
me too." Rev. James
Bechtel spoke about The
euiding of the Spirit. Carman
Tebutt and Bill Batkin
received the offering.
On, Sunday, Sept. 6th
Sunday School Classes will
star.
Remember Sunday Sep-
tember 13 when the Terry
Fox Run will be held ' in
Clinton. Sponsor sheets are
available at the Clinton town
hall.
I would like to thank those
who helped John with the
news while we were on
vacation down East. It was a
very nice trip and we did see
so much so thanks again
everyone.
For the bus trip to Midland
there are still seats available
call Blanche Deeves at 482-
3383 for information.
Please note The Enter-
prising Seniors will meet

Midget Boys win
Township Tournament
The Midget boys tour-
nament was held in Ben -
miller on August 30th. They
played Londesboro first and
won. They next played
Benmiller in a well played
game and Holmesville came
out on top, thus placing top
team and winning the
trophy. This shows that Bill
Harris and Darrell Abbott
hive done a real good job in
coaching the Midget boys to
bring them this far and make
them a team that any coach
would be proud to be looking
after.
On Monday night the
Midget boys met with
Londesboro for a win. They
also won over Benmiller the
next night.
On Monday night the
Squirt boys met with Stanley
for a win. Their tournament
which was to be held August
29th was rained out and they
play September 12 at 12:00
noon in Goderich.
The Pee Wee boys tour-
nament, which was to be
held August 29th was can:
celled due to wet weather. It
will now be held August 31st
and September 2 (Monday
and Wednesday nights)
weather permitting. Results
should be in next week's
paper.
The Holmesville boys
signed up in the Auburn Slo
Pitch Tournament where
they play their first game at
10:00 a.m. Saturday versus
Selinger Wood. Come on out
folks and give our team the
support they need to bring
home another victory.
Maitland and
the 16th
By Milena Lobb
Where has the summer
gone? It is hard to believe
that next week the yellow
buses will be back on the
road. Everyone in this area
has been busy with picnics,
barbecues, anniversarys and
weddings so the month of
AugiEt has slipped away.
The September meeting of
the S.S. No. 4 Community
Club will be held in the
evening on September 9th at
the home of Marty Lobb. The
meeting will start at 8 p.m.
and there will be a demon-
stration on silk flowers -
Silks by Sharon.
Quite a few have had time
to get away for a few days:
Murray and Marlene Forbes
went to Manitoulin Island) to.
visit with Marlene's sister
Lunda and her family. They
had time, to tour some of the
island and got as far as Gore
Bay. When they came back
to the Wiarton area they met
some of the Forbes relatives
and were taken on a tour of
the Bruce Peninsula
Wayne and Lois Tebbutt
spent a weeli at Bettendorf.
Iowa with Gerry and Shirley
Tebbutt. They toured the
John .Deere Plant dere
Gerry tvorks.
Alvin, 1,inda, Lana and
David Jones took a few days
off and travelled to
Ccrllingwood where they
toured some of the scenic
caves and the Blue Mountain
Pottery factory.. David tried
out the' water slide. He
thought it was lots of f un.
Robin. Phyllis and Jamie
Thompson took a three week
jaunt through the States to
Los Angeles. California.
