September 1st for surgery.

Mr. Homer Coss of Lake
Land, Florida visited last
week with Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Johnston.
Bonnie Turner of

days with Elizabeth Lawson.
Cathy Vello of Nova Scotia
is visiting her mother Mr.
and Mrs. Ken Vodden.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs.

in Toronto visiting Glen's

ed the Exhibition, a Blue.

Canada's Wonderland.

Colleen and Mrs. Cathy
Johnston visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Larry Carter in
Simcoe on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Kelland and Thelma Ellerly
spent the weekend with Mr.
and - Mrs. Cy Murrelf in
Orjangeville.
Mr. and Mrs, Ross Millson
of Woodstock visited on
Saturday evening with her
mother Mrs. Dora Shob-
brook and were guests at the
Forbes -Jewitt reception at
Blyth community centre.
Mr. Wilfred Glazier was
admitted to Clinton Public
Hospital on August 29th.

home on Sunday from spen-

held on Sunday at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Johnston. Present were Mr.
and Mrs. Keith King, Martha
and Melody of Kincardine,
Mr. and Mrs. Ian Hulley and
Chrystal of Clinton, Mr. and
Mrs. Ken Vodden and Cathy,
Vello.
Church services will be
back to regular service Sept.
6, with Sunday School at 10
a.m. and worship service
at 11 a.m.
The Berean unit meeting is
on September 8th at 2 p.m. in
the church. Roll call asks to
tell something interesting
you did during the summer.
The W.I. meeting will be
held September 9th at 8 p.m.
in the hall. The topic is
Agriculture Conservation
and speaker is Mr. Norman
Alexander. Visitors will be
the Goderich Township W.I.
and the Clinton W.I. A bake
sale will be held and
everybody bring several ar-
ticles. Roll call will name an
old implement and what
takes its place.
Beverly Lee spent the
weekend visiting her parents
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lee and
relatives after returning
from her year teacher ex-
change in Southern Califor-
nia and a six week trip to
South East Asia including
Singapore, Hong Kong,
China, Thailand and In-
donesia.

Mrs. J. Merner of Kit-
chener visited a Sunday
recently with Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Merner, Sandy, Julie,
Michael and Shelley.
.Michael returned to spend a
few days holidays with his
grandmother, and the girls
are spending a few days with
their auntand uncle, Mr. and
Mrs. Allan Merner and Wes
of Waterloo.
Mrs. J. Thompson held a
trouseau tea on Sunday
afternoon for her daughter
Sharon. Grandmother of the
bride, Mrs. Terence Hunter
of Colborne Township, and
Mrs. Mabel Nesbitt of
Stratford, mother of the
groom, poured tea, while
Mrs. Vi Armstrong, great
aunt of the bride, and Mrs.
George Campbell, grand-
mother of the groom, poured
lemonade. Bridal attendants
and friends showed the gifts
to everyone.
Foresters church service
The Canadian Foresters
District Council church
service and picnic was held a
recent Sunday at" the new
hall. Rev. Stan McDonald of
Hensall, Chaplain, was the
minister for the serice and
Mary Riley was organist.
The hall had two beautiful
baskets of gladiolas donated
by Mary Riley.
The lodges attending were
from London, Atwood,
Wallace, and Dorchester and
High Chief Ranger: Ed Short
from head office in Brant-
ford also attended, as did
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hill.
Mary and Muriel McClure
conducted the sports for the
afternoon's enjoyments.
Results were: youngest
baby, Crystal Hulley; most
articles in purse, Ramona
Jamieson; guessing jelly
beans in jar, Ed. Short.
The potatoe dance was
won by Jim Jamieson and
Janice Preszcator. The
children's games were
conducted, with Darlene
Hulley winning the kick the
slipper and Jonathan Powley
winning the race for his age
group.
The quilt that was made
during the winter was on
display in the hall and an oil

held on Wednesday evening
Aug. 12th in the Foresters
hall to honour Sharon
Thompson prior to her
wedding on August 22nd to
Brian Nesbitt. Neighbours,
friends and ,;•relatives
gathered to Wish her well.
A short program was
presented with Sharon, her
mother Carolyn„ Thompson
and mother of the groom
Mabel Nesbitt seated at the

claimed from the race for

Southwold. The nine-year-

daughter Cindy of RR 3,
Clinton, and was driven to
his second lifetime win by
Tom Strauss. Gorlyn Andy
spent the winter months at
Hawkinsville, Georgia with
Bill and Cindy, but returned
home this spring and won his
qualifying race at Clinton on
June 28 in 2 :13. Bill gave him
a 2:,11.1 record in his third
lifetime start at Goderich on
July 23.
