Golfers play in district match
By John Scott
First of all, 1 must
apologize for last week's col-
umn. I hope you noticed that
there wasn't one! Steve had
been doing the column while
I was on vacation and he
thought I was doing it and I
thought he was.
Well, vacations are over
for the year now. Our family
returned to Scotland on Mon-
day after a most enjoyable
visit and Joyce and I would
like to thank everyone for
their hospitality.
From the notes left at the
Branch, nothing is happen-
ing these days. A little bird
told me a story about Steve
Cooke's attempts at pigeon
shooting. It seems he can hit
windows easier than birds. I
guess that's why he's a con-
servationist.

JUDGE Jean McKee, Benmiller
This Saturday, August 15,
is the date for the District
Golf Tournament in Owen
Sound. We have two teams
entered, who qualified at
zone level, and wish . them
good luck.
The next executive
meeting is scheduled for
Monday, August 17th, and
our match play tournament
is nearing completion with,
Art Burt in the final, beating
Don Armstrong in the semi-
finals. He now awaits the
winner of the other semi-
final between Bill Cox and
Brian Reeve.
The addition is coming
along well and we would like
to thank everyone who has
lent a hand so far. But there
is still a long way to go. If
you can lend a hand we
would be very grateful.
Special thanks go to Murray
Miller and Barry Irwin for
the work they did in finishing
the floor.
Well, that's all I've got this
week except that Brian
Atkinson's name was picked
for the membership draw a
couple of weeks ago and
