THINK of judgment as
only punitive and an-
nihilative, but the Scrip-
tures show us the
twofold nature of the
(udgment process. It un-
covers and eareomo! evil,
condemning it to
destruction; It cleanses
and purifies the
remainder, fitting It for
spiritual use. Therefore,
lodgment both destroys
and saves.

The light of Canada
The Shield landscape can
give you the feeling of time
rot passing, like in an af-
ternoon when you see a lake
so clearly and imagine
voices from thousands of
years ago. You can feel like
this only in special places,
Northern Ontario, Labrador,
watching the cliffs rise out of
the ocean. The inhuman light
of Canada isn't frightening;
it's comforting. (from "The
More Loving One" by M. T.
Kelly)
