Tourism
booms in
Goderich
GODERICH - Tourism has
increased in Goderich this
year and according to
figures at the local tourist
information booth some 6,280
people have registered so
far.
This figure is up by about
1,000 over last year and the
good Weather, the amount of
advertising done by the
tourist committee, and the
attractive gasoline prices
and monetary exchange
rates for Americans are
cited as the major reasons
for the increase.
The pioneer museum and
the jail continue to be
popular tourist attractions,
walking and bicycling tours
of the town have become
popular, and flea markets
and garage sales are also
attracting the vacationing
crowd.
