A proposal was, presented to the Clinton C.R.C. on Sunday regarding a continuation of the Vanastra ministry. A meeting and congregational vote on this proposal is planned for Sunday August2. From the SWIM Team: We are halfway through the program. Though the time has passed so quickly, it also has seemed hire we've been here a long time. I guess that's because we feel at home here. We've completed V.B.S. this week. Though it was a relief to be finished, it was a joy to see the 80 children return each day. Next week, we will do more ministry in the Clinton area We will still be active in Vanastra. See you around! Alateen group meeting every Sunday evening in the Vanastra Christian Church. Vacation Bible School The Vacation Bible School at the Vanastra Christian Church came to a close on Sunday morning with a special program. The first part of the service followed the regular liturgy. Since the beatitudes (sayings of Jesus as guidance for Christian Living) were a part of the V.B.S. program, the congregation recited these verses in unison followed with singing "They'll know we are Christians by our. love". Instead of the Sunday message, the minister with the Young People Volunteer Group (S.W.I.M.) narrated and acted out. Bible stories on John the Baptist, Peter the Disciple of Jesus, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. After the Blble stories the V.B,S. classes made their presentations all theway from the tiny tots to the ones in their early teens. It was just great to see and hear all these children with their shiny faces., and happy voices. It was also great to see s4 many parents attend this special program. The first part of the. auditorium was used for displays by each class. It was obvious that the children and the teachers put a lot of effort into the program. The crafts and Bible stories were just excellent this year and so was the staff. It was the best Vacation Bible Sdrool we've had at the Vanastra Christian Church. Atten- dance on several days hit the 85 mark, all children from lhecommunity. It was a lively and happy crowd every day, also somewhat noisy - but who wants quiet children?
