This .week at the plate
Ball action was hot and
heavy .just like the weather
last week in Londesboro.
In squirt action the. Blue
Jays played the .Mets and
kept their streak intact,
winning their third in a row.
On Tuesday night in another
squirt game the Dodgers
edged Auburn while in the
final squirt game on Thur-
sday evening the Tigers
came close but lost to the yet
undefeated Expos.
The Pee Wee girls en-
tertained the Clinton girls
but despite Hullett
Hospitality the Clinton girls,..
came out on the short end of
the score. The Midget girls
game with Goderich
Township was cancelled by
the Goderich Township
coach.
In boys action the Pee
Wee's. were kept busy.
Radfonds Jays travelled to
Goderich and came home
with a tie. On Monday night
while Aliens "A's" played
Stanley Township, on
Wednesday evening, the
Stanley boys came up with a
strong effort and went home
with the victory. The Ban-
tam -finks' hosted, Tucker -
smith representatives and
trounced them by a 30 - 14
score. In midget boys action,
our local boys travelled to
Holmesville, but victory
went to 'Goderich Township
boys.

this past weekend with the
midget boys being

boys. In a slugfest the "A's"
took the game and the
medals by a 35 -17 score.
In ladies action the Lon-
desboro Ladies travelled to
Blyth and once again fell
victim to the strong play of
the Blyth team, meanwhile
Summerhill hosted Ben -
miller in the other ladies
game and once again they
edged Holmesville 11 - 9. The
other game featured the
Albon All -Stars losing to the
Blyth team representing
Howson's, The Moms and
Dads were at it on Friday
playing between the rain-
drops with John's Jumbo's
beating. Jame's Jellybeans
in an action packed
exhibition of fun and spill.

Neighborly news
On Wednesday evening,
Mrs. Dora Shobbrook and
Mrs. Thelma Ellenby visited
with Frank Garrow in St.
Josephs Hospital, London
where . he had surgery on
Tuesday. He returned home
on Friday. On Wednesday,
Mrs. Jack Armstrong came
to the home of her daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carter,
having been a patient the
past seven weeks in Seaforth
HospitaL
Mr. Russell Good was
transferred by ambulance,
on Friday from Clinton
Hospital to St. Josephs
Hospital, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill
B'-nmley, Cheryl and Lori
returned home on Thursday
from holiday ing to east
coast.
Mrs. Dora Shobbrook
spent Saturday night and
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Million and family in
Woodstock, on Sunday a
family gathering was held at
the !Wilsons; present were
Mrs. Thelma Ellenby, Frank
and Dora Ellenby, Cheryl
Smith, Rob and Val Miller,
Marsha and Jonathon, Dan
and Vickie Colquhoun,
Chastity and Ken Joan
Garron and Dean Ryaln.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wood
and family of Wingham
visited his parents, Mr. ands.
Mrs. E. Woods on Sunday.
Bereans
hold .picnic
On July 14th three
carloads of U.C.W. members
had a picnic lunch at the
Listowel Park, then toured
the Yarns of Tralee Com-
pany at Tralee near
Listowel. They toured the
building, viewing many
beautiful knit and crocheted
articles and several brought
home yarn and patterns. A
lucky draw was made and
won by Beth Knox, before
travelling to the cheese
factory at Millbank. Thanks
goes to the drivers, Helen
Lawson, Edythe Beacom
and Helen Lee.
Burns UC W meet
The Burns U.C.W. met at
the home of Ma rgaret Taylor
on Tuesday afternoon with 14
present. Ida Leiper opened
the meeting with a poem and
Gladys Leiper read the
scripture.
Ida Leiper led in prayer
and a patriotic reading was
given by Ida Leiper with
Ramona Jamieson,
Margaret Taylor, Gay
Salverda and Beryl Reid
taking part.
Ida Leiper introduced
special guest Margaret
Whyte who spoke about Sam
Foss and read his poem "Let
me live in the house at the
side of the road, and be a
friend to man". Margaret
also gave a reading
"Children learn what they
, live". Margaret Taylor
thanked Margaret and
presented her with a gift. Ida
Leiper thanked all who took
part in the meeting.
Mrs. Rice was in charge of
the business and roll call was
answered with a Bible verse,
and minutes of the last
meeting were read. The
treasurer's report was given
by Joan Hoggarth and
correspondence was read.,
Mrs. Rice. Thank you letters
were received from
Emerson Hesk, Doreen
Carter, Canadian
Crossroads International
and Rev. Swan_ All signed
cards for Mrs. Betty
Salverda and Ross Leiper.
Mrs. Rice closed with
prayer.
Clinton's iiewest band proved to be a real hit at the town's recent Moonlight Madness

We have examined the consolidated balance sheet of the Corporation of
the.Township,of Hullett as. at December 31, 1980 and the consolidated statements'
of revenue and expenditure, capital operations, continuity of trust. funds, and
reserve and 'reserve funds Continuity and analysis,of year end position for the
year then ended. Our examination was made in accordance with generally accepted
auditing standards,. and accordingly included such tests and other procedures as
we considered necessary in the circumstances.
In our opinion, these consolidated financial statements present fairly the
financial position of the Corporation of the Township of Hullett as at December
`31, 1980 and the results of its operations for the year then ended in accord-
ance with $enerally accepted accounting principles for Ontario municipalities
applied on a basis consistent with that of the preceding year.
