A thing
of gold
Love is a smile that springs
from quiet thought,
A silent voice the heart can
understand,
The warmth and texture of
another's hand,
A treasured secret held, a
moment caught. -
Love is a sense of shyness
brought to bold,
A setting of the heart within
its place,
The safety of another soul*
embrace,
A thing of beauty - Love - a
thing of gold.

School
opens
It has been a beautiful
week for Vacation Bible
School to start this past week
July 6. This has enabled the
teachers to have their
classes outside. On Wed-
nesday, July 8 they had the
highest number of children
yet - 85 to be exact, which
breaks last year's at-
tendance by over 20 children.
The largest group is the
primary class which
averages 20 children each
day. Buzzy Bear visits with
the nursery and beginner
classes at story -time each
day. Various classes have
been doing paper matche,
doodle art, mobiles, iron -ons
and pictures made with
macaroni and seeds. At
break time the children have
been enjoying ap-
proximately seven dozen
cookies a day so please help
out and donate some cookies
if you already haven't.
Closing program is during
church on July 19,

From the S.W.I.M. team:
This week was dominated by
V.B.S. The first week was
completed. We've learned
that it takes a lot of energy to
teach V.B.S. The kids know
how to tire us out and it takes
an hour or more to prepare
the lesson, but we're happy
to see that more than 80
children came. Though the
large numbers put a strain
on the teachers, we're thank-
ful fo r ea ch one of them.
