Over 80 Websters meet
The annual Webster picnic
was held at Brucefield Cen-
tennial School on Sunday,
June 14 when about 84
registered. As it was very
humid and sultry, the gather-
ing was held indoors.
Mrs. Jessie Kirkland and
Mrs. Olive Blake supervised
registration. Sports convener
Hugh Lobb conducted con-
tests and relay races. Win-
ners included Nancy Lobb,
preschool children throw the
paper plate and Greg Lobb, 6
- 10 years throw the paper
plate.
Everyone enjoyed the pipe
band music by three pipers
led by drummer Watson
Webster.
President Mervyn Lobb
welcomed everyone and en-
couraged the younger gener-
ation to continue the family
reunion as next year will be
the 60th family reunion. A
musical by Doris McKinley
on marimba, accompanied on
the piano by Mrs. Gerald
Moffat, was enjoyed.
A minute's silence was
observed in memory of those
family members who passed
away during the past year
including Irene Turner, Ada
(Helm) Woods; Mrs. Elmer
Webster; Elgin McKinley;
William Hackett; Albert
Gammie; Lorraine Dwyer;
Earle Webster and Jack Rit-
chie.
A duet by Mr. and Mrs.
Mervyn Lobb was enjoyed.
Lawrence Webster of
Beamsville told of how his
father, John Webster, cut
stones by the grain and
hauled them with his Ford
car to build the Webster
Cairn which stands by the
Greenhill Cemetery in Luck -
now, in memory of the
Webster pioneers.
Mrs. Robert Kennedy of
Richmond Hill, historian of
Pilot killed
after take -off
KINCARDINE - A well-
known Kincardine pilot was
killed instantly on June 13
when his plane crashed into
a farmer's field just west of
Molesworth.
Frank Szekely, 38, owner
of Stardust Aviation, was
killed just moments after
taking off from a field. 1e
was flying a Piper SuPer Cub
two -passenger single engine
plane.
Witnesses reported a wing
dropped off the plane just
prior to it going into a nose
dive. Ministry of tran-
sportation officials removed
parts frord the crash site to
Kincardine for study.

was sung by Mrs. Mervyn
Lobb and Mrs. Robert Ken-
nedy.

Joint Installation
The Hensall Branch of the
Canadian Legion and
Ladies' Auxiliary held their
joint meeting on Tuesday
evening. The ladies' Zone
Commander Mona Davis of
Goderich, assisted by
Thelma Wood installed the
following officers: past

1st vice-president, Joan
Beierling; 2nd vice-
president, Mildred
Chalmers; secretary, Donna

District Deputy
Grand Master Installed
Bro. Alex McBeath of Kip -
pen was installed as District
Deputy Grand Master of
Huron District No. 8 on Sun-
day evening at an open in-
stalL,ation at the Hensall
Lodge rooms, attended by
many district officers and
members. Rev. Stan
McDonald opened the even-
ing by leading in prayer.
Bro. Ernie Chipchase, Past
District Deputy and Past
Commander of the Encamp-
ment installed Bro. Alex.
Bro. Jim Rose of Seaforth
was pianist for the evening
and Bro. Cecil Pepper was
Marshall for the installation.
Bro. Alex spoke and in-
troduced his family, his
charming wife, Evelyn, his
sons Ross of Kippen, and
Douglas of Kincardine.
D.D.G. M. Alex presented
the travelling Gavel to. Bro.
John Moffatt, D.D. G.
Warden. Past Grand Master
Bro. John Broadfoot, in-
stalled Bro. John Moffatt as
District Deputy Grand
Warden. Bro. Pere Camp-
bell, P.D.D. installed Bro.
Charles Hay as D.D. Grand
Secretary. Following the in-
stallations retiring Bro. Per-
cy Noels, Exeter spoke ad-
dressing Bro. Alex. Bro.
Robert Heywood played and
sang two most appropriate
numbers, which added much,.
to theevening's program.
The meeting concluded with
prayer by Rev. Stan
McDonald and a social hour
followed when refreshments
were served.
Carmel News
Rev. Kenneth Knight con-
ducted service in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on Sun-
day when Mrs. Jean Carey of
Cromarty spoke on the
General Assembly which she

attended at Ottawa. The Ser-
vice next Sunday June 28th
owing to the Anniversary
service at Cromarty when
Rev.. W.D. Jarvis will be
guest speaker.

tended the Seniors week at
Huronview on Monday.

The Hensall United
Church morning Church ser-
vice was held in the Arena on
June 21 so that the visitors to
the Fiddler's Contest could
easily attend, and there was
a good attendance of
campers and Chun.
members. Rev. Stanley '
McDonald conducted the
service and music was pro-
vided by vocalist and
guitarist Betty Beerand,
vocalist Linda Hunter and
Mrs. Joyce Pepper at the
piano.
The service opened with a
sing -song of old familiar
hymns and the children's
talk was about seeing. the
good in people. The message
was on 'If I Should Die
Before I Live', the quality of
life is more important than
the length.
Flowers at the front were
in loving memory of Mrs.
Wilheimina Jacques placed
there by the family and
others were in memory of
Bert Shobbrook oF-
Londesboro placed there b) -
