placed second in the
Technical Report Writing
Contest sponsored by the
Society of Manufacturing
Engineers, London Chapter.
Bruce wrote his report on
production at Ram Air, a
London based industry.
Bruce and his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Lavern Godkin of
RR 1, Walton, attended the
awards presentation at The
Barn Restaurant where
Bruce was presented with a
plaque and a cheque for $50.

girl feted

Bridal shower
On Tuesday aftemoon over
20 ladies from the Middleton
church and area gathered at
the home of Estelle Wise in
Holmesville for a bridal
shower for Cindy Middleton,
bride-to-be next month.
Corsages made of wayside
and garden flowers were
made by Jean Perdue and
Mrs. Deeves. These were
pinned on the bride-to-be,
her sister Shelley, and the
mother of the bride, the
grandmother of the bride
and the mother of the groom
Mrs. Taylor. The bride sat in
a special chair and Mrs.
Deeves welcomed everyone
to the happy occasion.
Mrs. Wise read the ad-
dress to Cindy, a poem which
she wrote. Allison Postill
presented the gifts to Cindy
while her sister Shelley
assisted. Her mother made
her a lovely hat with her.

thanked Estelle for having ,
the shower and to the ladies
present for coming and for
all their gifts.
Margaret Middleton gave
a humorous reading and
lunch was served by the
hostess with Vera Miller and
Blanche Deeves.

John Deeves has returned
home after an enjoyable trip
to Newfoundland and Prince
Edward Island.
Morning Prayer' was held
in St.' James Anglican
Church on Sunday. The
theme of • Rev. William
Bennett's sermon was, If this
is Sunday, it must be heaven.
Edward Wise read the lesson •
and Don Middleton and
Edward Deeves received the
offering.
