Res Purchase end Servicing of load for
Industrial Devel®pmeot
A decision which wll storm , n on s future has to
be made now. Although the Town Council must make
the decision and accept responsibility for It, we believe
that the citizens of Clinton should have an opportunity
to express their opinions. For this purpose a Public
Meeting will be held In the
TOWN HALL ON MONDAY, JUNE 22ND, 1981
7:30 P.M.
at which members of Towed Council, the Clinton in-
dustrial Development Committee, a member of the
County Planning Staff and the County Development Of-
ficer will explain and answer questions about the plan
of development, the cost estimates and the methods
of financing.
Cost of purchase of land (34 acres) and servicing the fir-
stPhase(32 acres) is estimated to be '418,000000.
Servicing could be further phased so that the initial
estimated outlay would be °300,000.00 for which we
would have 17 acres approximately of serviced land.
Further development would be undertaken only when
this serviced land was sold. Such further development
would, of course, be much less expensive. as the Town
would already own the land and feeder services would
be In place.
This is your opportunity to get answers to your
questions and to express your opinions,
`MONDAY, JUNE 22, 1981 at 7:30 P.M. IN THE TOWN

LangftrdLnm er
to officially open
, After several months of
reorganization, Langford
Lumber and Builder's
Supplies Limited of Lucan,
will officially open their new
Clinton branch this weekend
with an open house this
Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday. It is the chain's
third retail outlet.
On January 27th they
finalized the purchase of the
former Fred J. Hudie -
Wiseway lumber yard and
retail store from Price
Waterhouse Limited, agents
for the Bank of Montreal,
who had taken over the
Hudie operation when the
Wiseway owned Stores went
into receivership with the
collapse of the parent
Wiseway of Canada Ltd.
Langford Lumber, under
the ownership of Jerry
Nurse, operate a large retail
store and contractor supply
yeard in Lucan - serving the
Lucan and surrounding area
and serving many contrac-
tors in the London area. This
yard has been in operation
since December 1st, 1958
when it was purchased from
the former Harvey
Langford. In the Spring of
1965 they opened their second
retail yard in Parkhill in-
partnership with Tom Mit-
chell who had been an
employee of the Lucan yard.
Mr. Nurse believes this
latest acquisition will give
them sales volume in the $3
to $4 million year range and
along with their recent join-
ing of the Castle Home Cen-
tre buying group, should
make them very com-
petetive in this very chang-
ing and challenging market.
The Clinton Store at 230
Bayfield Road is being
managed by Don Colquhoun,
who is well-known in the
Clinton area and has had
many years experience in
the lumber and supply
business.
