The President Mrs. Robert M. Bell presided for the meeting and opened with a poem. Mrs. Al Hoggarth was in charge of the devotional and her topic was on 'Hap- piness' and Mrs. Wm. H. Bell read the scripture. Bertha MacGregor in- troduced the guest speaker Rev. Maureen Walters of the Presbyterian church in Ailsa Craig who gave a very worms thwhile message. Mrs. Lloyd Moesseau thanked Rev. Walters and, presented her with a gift. Mrs. Wm. Brown, Seaforth formerly of Hensall was the guest soloist, accompanied by her daughter Mrs. Don Carter also of Seaforth, who played two numbers on the organ. At the close of the program the ladies were entertained to a social hour and lunch was served. The leaders of the various organizations ex- pressed xpressed thanks. Mrs. Irene Davis expressed her thanks to the Club for nominating her to attend the Convention in Kingston in August. Rebekahs.Meet Amber Rebekah Lodge held their meeting on June 3, with the Noble Grand Bertha MacGregor presiding assisted by the Vice -Grand Gladys Coleman. The inaugural meeting will be held at Goderich on June 25th at 8 p.m. Final ar- rangements`w17l be made at the meeting on June 17th. The Vice Grand gave the visiting report and cards sent. Thank you cards were received ' from -Alice Ferg and Annie Reid. ChiselhurstU.C.W. Meet The Chiselhurst U.C.W. held their monthly meeting on Tuesday afternoon. The president Mrs. Dorothy Brintnell presided and open= ed the meeting with a poem and Mrs. Clarence Coleman conducted the worship. A thank you letter was read from the Huron County Family and Children's ser- vices for donation received. A Bazaar will be held in the Fall. The study was given by Pearl Taylor and the Presi- dent thanked everyone for taking part and reviewed the September meeting, which is to be held in the Fellowship Hall. The meeting closed and the hostesses were Pearl Taylor, Ardys Glenn and Earls Coleman. People Report Mrs. 011ie Cooper spent the weekend visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Don Kyle and sons in London and attended the Trousseau Tea in honor of Miss Patti Merner on Saturday. Mrs. Bertha MacGregor was a guest at the Confirma- tion of her niece Miss Kelli Schroeder in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Chur- ch, Zurich on Sunday and also at the reception held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Schroeder. Mrs. Dorothy Brintnell spent the weekend in London visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Brintnell and family and attended the Hamblin - S eelebr Chute U.C.W, Meet The U.C.W. meeting of Unit IV was held on June 4th with Mrs. Nan Britton presiding. Mrs. Vera Lem - mon had charge of the devo- tional and she spoke of the early Christians ha Judea and the Cluistian Church hi Sleuth Korea. Mrs. Rena Caldwell gave the Study on Korea and spoke on the families coming to Canada which started in 1976, their experience here and our help to them and in getting adjusted and how well they have gotten along. Mm. Britton read a poem. Mrs. Dorothy Mickle was pianist and Secretary for the meeting. Sixty-eight visits were made for the past month by the group and the treasurer's report was given by Mrs. Myrtle Sherritt. Mrs. Roobol reported three birthday cards were sent out in May. The offering was taken by Mrs. Hazel bother and dedicated by. Mrs. Britton. The business followed when Members were reminded about the Bake Sale at the Fiddler's contest and our unit to prepare and serve lunch at the General meeting on June 8th. The .meeting in September will be a pot -luck luncheon at noon on September 10 and the cliseldu st Ladies to be the Themeeting with a hymn and prayer by Mrs. Britton and Inch was served by Mrs. Roobol, Mrs. Hazel Luther, Mrs. Vercy Ken- nedy. Mr. Charles Mickle of Hamilton spent the weekend visiting with his mother Mrs. LairdMidde. Queensway Nursling Home The staff and residents of Queensway Nursing Home wish to express their gratitude to Rev. McDonald for the Church service, the Volunteers from Zurich Mennonite churdi namely. Sharon Gingericb, Monica and Cindy Gingerich, Mary and Father Gingerich, Mar- jori , rid`Whelk Stedde} Doreen Oesch and Ginny .Steckle for entertaining with bingo. Also to the volunteers from the Christian Reform- ed Church namely: Alice Rooseriboon; Ann • ; Aidrey Boersma; Teta Bre Tea and Coffee will be served Sunday June 14th from 2 5 p.ns. for the residents and their visitors. Rev. McDonald conducted the Ctiurch service accom- panied by Mrs. Miekle at the piano. The men's high bowl- ing score was held by Neil Regan with 175 and Ladies' high, Mary Parlrner with 90. Visiting with Mrs. Wilds were Henry and Marie Wilds, Kay i ; Olie and Nora Dogan and Josephine Deitrich. Visiting with Mr. McNaughton were Jim and Hazel McNaughton, and Susan Purdy. Susan Purdy also visited Vera Iesmnde and Bill McKenzie, Annie Becher, Doug and Eva Treibner visited with Mrs. Triebner. Mike Mods visited his aunt Mrs. Moss. Don Rozendal visited with his wife Mrs. Rozendal. Mrs. Alderson was visited by her husband Roy and daughter Mabel. Ruth Durand and Mrs. Joyce Kendrick visited Nell Ken- drick. The date for the Senior Citizens of the Three Links had to be changed to June 22nd to visit Huronview. Please note the change. A donation was voted to Clin- ton Community Hospital and arrangements were finalized for catering to weddings in the future months. Nominations and officers followed: past president, Mrs. Beatrice Uyl; presi- dent, Mrs. Alice Neilands; Ist vice-president, Joan Beierling; 2nd vice- president, Mildred Chalmers; treasurer, Col- leen Ferris; secretary, Don- na Allan; Sgt. at Arms, Iva Reid; executive,. Awards Sunday God's Garden was the theme for the Annual Award and Promotional Service in the United Church on Sunday Morning., The church Sanc- tuary was decorated and made over into a garden -like atmosphere with trees, bushes, Ilowering shrubs, water fountain and ferns. The whole service was based on, God's Creation with ap- propriate hymns and an- thems. The Sunday School students sat with their teachers in their classes and the choir sang a special an- them Following the reading of the Creation Story by Rod Parker and Donald Wareing, the Choir sang and Mr. McDonald explained that the rainbow is a symbol of the Promise and covenant of God with his people. Mr. McDonald spoke to the children "The Sun Of Righteousness" as he told than hnow the flowers and trees and grass all depend on the sun for their life and how we too depend on the Sun Of Righteousness, Jesus Christ...for our new life. During the service Wayne Scotcluner sang and Peter Cook led the congregation to prayer as he sang. During the Award Service, the Sun- day School Superintendent Mrs. Lorne Gackstetter presented sats and diplomas to thd. a who had Sunday School the number of Sundays set as a goal for perfect attendance.
