everyone and announced
that communion will be held
this Sunday, and on June 1
the official board meeting
will be held.
For the children's story
time, Mr. Scott talked about
being lonely and frightened,

always there. The junior
teachers were Florence
Cartwright and Linda
Preszcator.
The choir sang a special
number with Barbara
Bosman as the choir director
and Louise McGregor at the
organ. •

weekend with his aunt, Mrs.

Mr. Pat Mason had
surgery on Thursday, May 21
at the Clinton Public
Hospital.
Mrs. Laura Saundercock
was admitted to Clinton
Public Hospital on May 21.

Saturday, May 16.
Mrs. Mars: ret Taman of
Brampton visited with her
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Armstrong and also
attended the wedding of
Larry Carter. A number of
couples from the area were
also guests at the wedding
and the community offers its
congratulations.
Sympathy is extended to
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Radford, Mr. and Mrs. Len
Radford and Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Lee on the death of
their brother, George
Radford of Blyth on May 24.
He was 68 years old.

District Annual at St. Helens
on March 25.
Cheerios meet
Group 2 of the Cheerio
Club met at the home of
Edythe Beacom on May 20th
and acting chairman
Margaret Good welcomed
'everyone. The roll call was
answered with a current
event and 12 members and
one new member, Beth
Knox, paid their dues.
The minutes of the last
meeting and the financial
statement were given by
Addie Hunking and
correspondence included a
thank you note from Vi
Burns and Keith Vivian,
along with a letter from the
Flowers of Hope project.
Group 3 will be in charge of
the next meeting on June 17

crowds with the hills
creating natural am-
phitheatres, so everyone has
a good view.
The day went by too
quickly and soon I was
saying goodbye to all the
caddies with promises to see
them at the Canadian Open.
A quick visit to the Pros Shop
for souvenirs and then back
on the road to Canada,
revitalized by . a visit to
heaven.
Locally, our members
enjoyed a good week of golf.
Over 30 men participated in
Men's Night which put Cam
Doig and John Cairns Jr. on
the leader board. Men's
night seems to get bigger
and better each Thursday.
We still need more entries
for men's match play in
order to have a good com-
petition for the Don Eaton -
Brad Smith Trophy. Our
junior boys should sign up
too to compete for the Sills'
Trophy.
The Ladies° Night on
Monday was a great success.

The Milburn (Constance) Foresters lodges had a very
busy day last Saturday, as they barbecued chicken all day
for the Clinton Klompen Feest. About 1,600 chicken halves
were cooked on the 69 foot long pit and required constant

Constance Foresters feed 3,000 at Feest

A number of people from
the area attended and en-
joyed the Klompen Feest
held over the weekend in
Clinton. Court Constance
barbecued chicken for 3,000
persons on Saturday af-
ternoon at the Feest.
Mrs. J. Merner of Kit-
chener visited on the holiday
Monday with Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Merner, Sandy, Julie,
Mike and Shelley.
Congratulations are ex-
tended to Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Anderson on the birth of a
son Kyle.
Mr. and Mrs. John
Thompson, Brian Nesbitt
and Sharon Thompson, at-
tended the wedding of Kathy
Hunter and Brian Heycock in
London on Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Ellwood of Montreal were

At their April 21 meeting,
Hullett Township council
agreed to establish banking
services at the Imperial
Bank of Commerce branch
in Blyth. A'bylaw approving
the agreement was • given
three readings and accepted
by council.

A • motion was passed,
authorizing council mem-
bers to be paid $25 a day for
attending meetings outside
of the township. The
payments are retroactive to
January 1, 1981

A tile .drain loan for Jim
Medd on lot 4, concession 12
was approved by council.
The $3,750 loan is subjectto
the availability of funds and
township bylaws.

minor variance proposed by
Orville Storey at lot 1,
concession 13, but did not

Bayfield Flyers flop,
drop two games
After a good start, the
Bayfield Flyers have tailed
off with two straight losses in
South Huron Men's SIo-Pitch
action. On Wednesday night
in Bayfield the Dashwood
boys whipped the Flyers 25-
10 and on Sunday night in
Zurich the Cobras came out
on top of a 14-7 score. The
Dashwood offence consisted
of a steady string of base hits
while the Cobras relied on
hornerun power for their vic-
tory. The Flyers' record is
now one win and two losses.
The Knighthawk record
still stands at one win and no
losses as their Wednesday
night game with the Stanley
Steamers in Varna was
cancelled due to good farm-
ing weather.
Future games include:

Flyers; Thurs., May 28,
Eagles at Knighthawks;

chase of 42.'acres of land.
Presently owned by Brian
Hallam, the land with cost
the township $62,500 and an
agreement will allow Mr.
Hallam to use the workable
land for 10 years.

on lot 35, concession 13 was
accepted by council and an
agreement on line fences will
be included.
