Middleton folk
enjoy bus trip
By Blanche Deeves
At St. James ACW wish to
thank all who joined in their
first bus trip. The day turned
out very well and bus driver
Bob Sherwood was a great
help.
ile drove the group first to
the Tender Tootaie footwear
outlet fbr a shopping spree
and then on to Swain's
Nursery where everyone
was ready for a good lunch.
Following lunch, the group
went on to tour the three
acres of greenhouses and
man ladies' made pur-
chases.
Boarding the bus again,
the next stop was down High-
way 3 to Trinity Church
Howard were Mrs. Geddes
welcomed the group to the
church. St. James rector
Rev. William Bennett read
the history of the church to
the group, and this proved
interesting as one passenger,
Mrs. Viola Lampman, told
how her husband was related
Rev. Archibald Lampman,
one of the ministers back in
1858. As well, St. James
organist Sarah Storey played
the organ in this church
while we visited.
The tour then went on to
Ridgehouse Museum in
Ridgetown were the group
was taken on tour. The bus
was divided into two groups
and while one group enjoyed
refreshments and fresh
cookies baked in the
museum, the other group
toured the house, which
proved to be very enjoyable.
The group then went on to
McKay's Corners where they
enjoyed looking through
many, many bolts of
material. On the trip hone,
the group travelled to
Thamesville where everyone
enjoyed supper, before
arriving back in Clinton, a
`veryi appy_group,.an end to
a very enjoyable day:
