S.udents plant .trees
Grade 5 and 6, under the
direction of Mr. Walker and
Mr. Laurie have par-
ticipated in a conservation
project of tree planting. A
variety of pines and spruce
were planted to enhance the
school grounds and to pro-
vide a wind break. The trees
were purchased by the
school from the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation
Authority.
Tuesday, April 28 was a
professional activity day for
teachers in the County.
Teachers from Huron
Centennial attended
workshops at Goderich en-
titled "Meeting the Needs of
the Exceptional Child".
The workshops provided
an opportunity to understand
the implication of Bill 82, and
to learn practical techniques
for meeting individual and
exceptional needs of
students.
Play given
The evening of April 23
proved to be an exciting trip
back to younger years for
the many people who attend-
ed the play "Alice in
Wonderland", performed by
the grades 6, 7 and 8 students
of Huron Centennial School
in the school auditorium.
Both evenings the actors
were' outstanding, the choir
superb, the sets and
costumes, colourful and im-
aginative. All music was
well chosen to fit in with the
dialogue,:
There were very good
crowds both evenings, and
even those who had no
children performingsaid
they had a very entertaining
time and were glad they had
attended.

Kids visit farms
By
Tracey Sims and
Chris Caldwell
The Grade 7 pupils at Clin-
ton Public School have been
studying farming in the past
month.
For the past few years Mr.
Addison has planned farm
trips for all •Grade 7
students. This year we went
to many different farms.
They included, Huron Dead
Stock, Seaforth Veterinarian
Clinic and Hoggart Truck-
ing.
Some of the exciting things
we saw were pigs being
born; a horse getting put to
sleep, and an operation on a
cow and a dog. Some of the
students also gave sheep
their shots and watched cat-
tle being' dehorned. 11 you
think this was fun just wat-
ching, try'doing some of the
chores yourself.
The farmers we would like
to thank are Hugh Flynn,
Bob Lawson, Florence Mc11-
wain, Bruce Roy, Ed
Deeves, Don Pullen, John
Koetsier, Lloyd Dale, Mur-
ray Forbes, Don Forbes,
Robin Thompson, Brian
Westbrook, John and Harvey
Hoggart, Huron Dead Stock,
Seaforth Veterinarian
Clinic, Gerry Ginn, John
Hoven and Nick Whyte for
making it an experience to
remember.
