(Steve Cooke photo)' Auburn trustees study dog problem The April meeting of the Auburn Village Trustees was held last Saturday evening in the town hall with the chair'- man, hair-man, Warner Andrews presiding. . The minutes were adopted as read by the village clerk, Mrs. Ross Dobie. Prices were. reviewed on redi-Mix ' cement for sidewalks and also on the pole for the light at Man- chester Garden. Dogs are on the loose again in the village and this matter was brought up, Dog tag prices are going up again. The renovations to the town hall and library were discussed and the trustees will try to get some help through grants that may be available. George Collins was pre- sent and stated that there was trouble with the drain down the side of the hill. He said that during spring run- off, his house was flooded and this burned out his fur- nace motor. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bennett of Amherstburg visited for a few days last week with his aunt, Mrs. Elva Straughan and cousin, Mrs. Tom Jardin and Mr. Jardin. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raithby and John attended the Wheeler Raithby wed- ding at Ontario Street United Church in Clinton last Satur- day. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Raithby of Collingwood were also guests. Donald Young and Robert Stirling, members of the Huron County Farm and i%me Safety Association, at- tended a workshop --in Woodstock last Monday. Joe Andrews and Steve Zronik, consultants with the Ontario Association, were the keynote speakers for the meeting. Winners at the Silver Tops in- weekly euchre party last week were: novelty - Mike Mason Sr.; high lady - Kathy Eody; low lady Donna Powell; high man - Paul Plunkett; low man - Ben Hamilton. There were 11 tables in play. Congratulations to T. Stewart Toll of London, a former resident of Auburn, who. was appointed from among 13 applicants this week to the Directorship of the Middlesex Board of Education. Thirteen members, leaders and friends of Auburn 1, 4-H club enjoyed a bus trip last Tuesday even- ing to the London Gardens to see the Ice Capades.
