UCW meets
An ancient Lenten type
service called "The Ten-
nebrae", Latin for darkness,
was used in the worship ser-
vice at the April meeting of
Varna United Church
Women. Eleanor McAsh and

vice with Mildred McAsh
playing Easter music. Seven
candles representing , the
seven deadly sins were ex-
tinguished one by one as
prayers were offered that we
might have victory over
these sins.
A committee consisting of
Mildren McAsh, Shirley Hill,
Joan Stephenson, Debra
Rathwell and Pat Taylor has
the dessert euchre planned.
It will start at 12:30 this year
on April 15. Gifts are still
needed for door prizes.

Women in St. Thomas is ask-

ship celebration workshop in
Seaforth. - Cost is $10 in-
cluding the noon meal. Lon-
don Conference annual

Street United in Chatham
