Middleton and Bayfield join By Blanche Deeves Middleton's St. James congregation was well represented at a combined service at Hayfield's Trinity Anglican Church on Sunday. Rev. William Bennett led the service and his sermon was entitled, Jesus of Nazareth is passing by. Following the service a social time was held in the parish hall where coffee and Simnel cake were served. The ladies of the congregation each received a daffodil. A parish visitor this week was The Rev. R.T.F.' Brain, M.C.L, the Bishop of Cronyn Memorial Church in London. On April 23„ Steve and Rosie Cooke of Clinton will be at St. James to show slides of their trip to Africa. While in Africa the Cookes took part in a safari and took many slides of this ex- cursion. Everyone is welcome to attend this presentation which will be held at 8 pm. A silver collection well be taken. The St. James annual quit' draw is coming up a tickets will be sold soon. Second prize in the draw is a hand embroidered luncheon cloth. Bus trip Reponse to the upcoming bus trip has been great, so if you're planning to go call soon to Mrs. Deeves at 482- 3383, Mrs. Margaret Mid- dleton at 482-7525 'or Mrs. Jeanne Bennett at 565-2834. The bus will be travelling to the Tender Tootsie plant in Glencoe and over to Swain's greenhouses and nursery in Eagle. Then it's on to the Ridge House Museum and Mckay's Corner, a bargain discount store for materials. The trip will end with an evening meal at Fetter's Restaurant. The price to take part in the bus trip is $15, payable prior to the trip. People report We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Roth and their five children to the 14th concession. The Roths come from Swit- zerland. Congratulations go out to Shelly Middleton who passed the last of five senior silver dances in figure skating. Mrs. F red Middleton has returned home after spen- ding several weeks with her daughter in London and Clinton. We are sorry to hear that Jim Hutching is a patient in Westminister Hospital in Lon don. Get well wishes also go to Helen Merner. Ken and Linda Dutot and Ivan all of London were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dutot. Estelle Wise and Sarah Storey will look after the church care for the month of April. This Sunday com- munion will be celebrated at St. James.
