fee
offee will take place in Trinity
Church in Bayfield at 10 a.m.
The Simnel Cake is a special
treat in Lent.
Mothering Sunday is when
young people return home
and take flowers to their
Mothers. Our harsh climate
forces us tp gmayfor
Whir- in May which is 'Of'
course vastly more commer-
,cialized than the quaint old
. custom of the Anglican
Church in Britain, There will
be flowers for our ladies,
from a parishioner.
>u trip
Here we are again on the
move folks with the first bus
for 1981, to be held on May
6th. We will travel to Glen-
coe and visit the Tender
Tootsies outlet store, where
there are bargains to be had.
The bus will then go to
Swain's Nursery, three acres
of green houses to look at and
we will have lunch. The next
stop will be down Highway 3
at a small church where
we'll stretch our legs . and
then go on to the Ridge
House Museum. Following
this we go to McKay's corner
store where ther's lots of
goodies such as rugs,
material and curtains and a
good place for those who like
to sew. The bus will then
travel to Thamesville for the
evening meal at Fetter's
Restaurant and following

People rally
to save bank
SEBRINGVILLE - Petitions
signed by 900 Sebringville
and Shakespeare residents
and placard carrying
customers have clearly . .
shown the peoples' reaction
to the proposed closure of the
Bank of Commerce branches
in the two villages.
Officials from the Bank of
Commerce were scheduled
to meet last week with the
Save the Bank Committees
to discuss the April 10
closures of Sebringville and
Shakespeare banks.
If the group is successful in
getting the bank to give the
branches a reprieve, the
meeting could focus on how
the communities could en-
sure the long term viability
of the bra tic hes.
Bank officials have said
that it is riot economically
feasible to keep the two
shall branches open and
they claim that the present
facilities are sub -standard.
