People rally to save bank SEBRINGVILLE - Petitions signed by 900 Sebringville and Shakespeare residents and placard carrying customers have clearly . . shown the peoples' reaction to the proposed closure of the Bank of Commerce branches in the two villages. Officials from the Bank of Commerce were scheduled to meet last week with the Save the Bank Committees to discuss the April 10 closures of Sebringville and Shakespeare banks. If the group is successful in getting the bank to give the branches a reprieve, the meeting could focus on how the communities could en- sure the long term viability of the bra tic hes. Bank officials have said that it is riot economically feasible to keep the two shall branches open and they claim that the present facilities are sub -standard.
