GODERICH - The Goderich
Recreation Board has
recommended to the town
council that the Goderich
Minor Hockey Association
(GMHA) be granted $1,000 to
offset its large clef ltjt.
GMHA president Don
Larder and 13111 Rahbek
appeared before the rec
board and stated that the
association could have a
deficit of nearly $8,000 this
year. This figure is defrayed
somewhat by gate receipts,
financial help from various
service clubs and a recent
skate-a-thon, leaving the.
group with about $2,500 to
raise.
Councillor Jim Searls
suggested that the request be
handled in the same way as
the request from the Trotters
Association and that the
board should send a
recommendation to council
for the finance committee's
consideration.
