Tom Sees
Try making up some Tom Swlfty jokes. They work like
tbl8:'
"Pass the chicken," said Tom foully.
"I like riding," said Tom hoarsely.
"Turn on the lamp," said Tom lightly.
"The garden needs work," said Tom weedily.
"Let's go by plane," said Tom airily.
"I like running," said Tom swiftly.
"I have a pet mouse," said Tom squeakily.
"My lungs are in good shape," said Tom stridently.
"Look at the storm," Tom thundered.
"I'll do the dishes," Tom bubbled.
"The plumbing is, broken," Tom piped up.
"Coal is messy," said Tom blackly.
"I'm too fat," Tom blubbered.
"I miss green tees," Tom pined.
"Look at that bird," Tom crowed.

A reminder to parents of Beaver Colony A and Colony B
that we will be visiting the Schilbe Sugar Shanty on March
7. We will be leaving the High School at 9:30 and returning
at 12:30.
Beaver Colony A:
Imagine the fun as the Beavers entered the pond to join
in a game of volleyball played with brightly coloured
beach balls. Thus began a meeting revolving around.the
world of Dragons. Puppeteers Rusty and Bubbles along
with Toby St. Louis introduced the Beavers to Little
Jackie Papier and Puff the Magic Dragon. Lyrics were
sung by Tic Tac wrth-guitar accompaniment.._______--.
Beavers then joined in a sing -song which included a
popular new song among the colonies called the Sharing
Song. Dividing into lodges, the Beavers then handcrafted
Puff the Magic Dragon to take home: The final game was
co-operation beach ball bringing our meeting to a close.
Beaver Colony B:
It was a bright night for games and celebration as
Beavers received their new tails. This is a very important
part of the Beaver program and Beavers look forward to
reaching their new tail levels. There was also another
special ceremony when Rainbow invested Mark Falconer
into the Colony.
The Beavers and Leaders welcomed Mark as a new
Eager Beaver. Fun games included -Leap Frog and Red
Rover and from all reports obstacle relay proved to be the
highlight of the evening. Refreshments were served to end
an hour of fun and games.
Cubs:
Cubs have been working hard to fulfill the requirements
for their starwork. Stars presented this week were Jeff
Maclean and . Ronnie Calder, Red Star; Paul Caldwell,
Green Star. •
Scouts:
This week Chris White and Erin Clogg earned the
bronze stage fitness award and John Levis earned his gold
fitness award. Badges were also presented to Michael
Hallam for the petkeeper and Rodney Freeman for his
collectors. Both Cubs and Scouts have to work very hard
to earn these badges and devote a lot of time on projects.
Games played were British Bulldog and a blanket game to
find the most gullible Scout in the troop. Rodney Freeman
unfortunately filled that position.
A reminder that tickets are on sale for the "Spring Fl-
ing" on April 11. Advance tickets are available from any
leaders or by calling Mary Freeman 482-7905, Janet
Cameron 482-7925 or Anna Stirling 482-9954.

The second meeting of

Just before the meeting
was closed, the members
discussed what they should
