BACK BY POPULAR REQUEST -- BIG BROTHER !!!! Look for it in next week's Chronicle. Skies Should Meet By Paul Harman Last week this page contained an article discussing the possible closing of one of the technical shops at C.H.S.S. - especially the machine shop. Contrary to what was said the board has made no decision on the closing - in fact the board is not the organization that will make that decision. I was told that most of the information I received for the writing of that article was false. However my source was anything but unreliable. Therefore there must be a conflict of in- formation between the two sides. Since there is a difference in information and so many Takep.rt n tourneys people. are ignorant and i uneducated (including me) of the facts regarding the closing I think there should be a full scale meeting between all parties involved: the board, the principal, the teachers, parents and especially students. Perhaps this would help to resolve the issue. CI airron NEWS—RECORD, THURSDAY. Even though they came into the tournament as one of the two bottom teams in Huron County they managed to upset two top ranked Perth teams, St. Marys and Stratford Northwestern, to advance to the Huron -Perth finals. The juniors began by defeating St. .Marys in -one .of tvo games and duplicated this as they split games with Northwestern. They went on to play Stratford Central, the first placed Perth team. The girls . with little confidence against such a strong team were defeated easily in the first game. During the second game the team fought hard, but again lost. The juniors finished the day by defeating Seaforth in two games. On February 25th the juniors travelled to Wingham where they competed against the best teams in Huron and Perth. Basketball news On Monday C.H-:S:S. basketball teams took two out of three games from St. Marys as they ended their regular season. Both the seniors and juniors won while the midgets were defeated. Bill Tugwell highlighted the junior game by scoring a school record 60 points. The juniors finished the season with the best record of school teams at4-7. The Valentine's Day Massacre On Saturday, February 14, five brave students ac- companied by Mr. Allen participated in the annual Strathroy Chess Tour- nament. After calculations were complete at Strathroy, C.H.S.S.'s Chess Team placed 24th out of 26 teams in the tournament. C.H.S.S. sent a team last year that placed 24th out of 26 teams. The C.H.S.S. Chess Team is Congratulations to Andrew Davidson ( who gave up his birthday), Brad Lyon, David Leibold, Randy Lobb and Kevin Tamblyn for representing C.H.S.S.° against all forces of evil and" proving once again that C.H.S.S. is not always dead last. Quiz Korner For those of you who know chess, consider the knight. It moves two squares along a row or column then moves a square at right angles. (In general, the move is L- shaped). Can a knight move on an 8 x 8 chessboard so that it can start on the lower left corner, moving so that it lands onevery square only once, and finishing on the upper right corner?
