ACW meeting
The St. James Anglican
Chinch Women (ACW) held
their February meeting at
thehome of Mrs. AlvinDutot
with Lynda Steenstra in
charge.
She thanked Mrs. Dutot for
the use of herhame and gave
a special welcome to guest
Mrs. Rowden. She also
reminded everyone that this
is White Cane Week as well
as the Year of the Disabled.

-Lois Wise reported .that
she had a quilt that needs to
be done and she asked for
volunteers. Audrey Mid-
dleton discussed the bus trip
to the Milton Agricultural.
Museum and Mrs. Steenstra
gave a reading.
Mrs. Steenstra then in-
troduced the ,special guest
speaker, Mrs. Gelling, a
missionary in Belgium, who
on leave at her Highway 8
residence with her husband
and three children.
Mrs. Gelling played her
guitar and sang in Flemish,
songs she had written her-
self.
She spoke about Belgium's
climate and all the rain they
receive. She said that most
homes are large and
beautiful, bread costs $1.25 a
loaf and boneless steak is $10
a pound.
Mrs. Gelling explained
that not every family has a
teledhone, but these are
shared. As well, there is a
tax on television and radio
use.
She spoke about her life
with the church and how she
personally found the Lord.
The Gellings moved to
Belgium in 1975 and in five
years have seen seven
churches built.
Lois Smith thanked Mrs.
Gelling and presented her
with a gift. To end the
meeting, lunch was served
by Mrs. Dutot and Mrs.
Deeves.
March of Dimes
Canvassing for the March
of Dimes continues in the
township and Marion Powell
and Bev Schilbe will be
helping with the fund raising
efforts.
