One of these events is a Pub Nite on this Friday evening. The last Pub Nite suffered because of some bad weather, and as I write this, the forecast for this coming weekend doesn't look good either. Let's hope for a nice clear night, however, so there won't be any excuse for a small crowd. Stan Batt p,v.. Int ,.o work into organizing these affairs, so t let's show our appreciati..n by 'turning out and enjoying ourselves. And speaking about put- ting in bard work and time trying to organize events, Blanche Deeves reported that there were six tables out at the last mixed euchre par- ty. Blanche and Marg Switzer are encouraged with the increase, but would .still like to see more participa- tion, \ so, you better get your calendar out and mark Killed by ice SEAFORTH - Hugh ThoMpson, 68, of Seaforth was ` killed blatantly on January 26 when he was crushed by ice and snow which fell from the roof of his John Street home. Police believe Mr. Thompson was attempting to remove ice and snow from 'the roof when the accident occurred. A section of the eave, torn by the weight of the ice, and a long piece of wood were discovered beside the body. Mr. Thompson lived alone and his body was discovered by Grant Little, a cable television repairman, in- ‘,erc% SIS Friday. Other calendar markers are the Ladies Auxiliary general meeting on February 9th, and the Curl- ing Bonspiel scheduled for February 21st in Kincardine. For more information on the bonspiel, get in touch with Don Armstrong or check the sports° bulletin board downstairs at the hall. I hope that all you dart players are aware that your night is tonight, and not last night as usual, and everyone will be hoping Rosemary Armstrong and John. Scott.,, arena teamed up together again. It seems that that un- daunted pair took the nign couples event last week for the second Mile in a row, while Millie Hanley and Art Risley picked up the other end of the scale. Doris Chambers was the high lady and Terry Hollingshead the high man. Special con- dolences are offered to Bren- da Atkinson who scored a magnificent 171, but couldn't count it as she only needed 169 and therefore "burst". Better luck tonight Brenda. In the mixed euchre last week, Millie Hanley won ladies' high ( better than darts eh Millie), while Muriel Buyers was low. Jack Spearin won tie men's high alid Gregg Brandon was low. John Deeves, using that good old, Goderich Township technique, wen the high. lone hands. Men's euchre last week saw Eldin Kerr win the high score with an 86, while Andy Peterson turned in a low of 49. Ed Fothergill won the lone hands by getting six. The euchre enjoyed its usual good attendance with 15 tables playing. ) FINE FAMILY DINING 1'r,r [ s 1 EN.IOY OL1R St;PER B DAILY 1101Ii A: SPECIAL.
