penalties and the Sherwoods
17.

goaltenders were missing
from the lineup, Hellman
suffering from an injury mud
Oke out of town, so Kevin

Village gets new ambulance service
by Helen Owen
All members of the
Bayfield Village Council
were present at the meeting
held on Monday, January 19.
It was decided to make the
usual annual contribution to
the Agricultural Society,
who in making the request,
emphasized the need for sup-
port for the 1981 Fair
because otherwise it might
not be possible to continue
the project in 1982.
Of particular interest to
Bayfield residents was a let-
ter trash Mr. O'Connor of
Zurich, advising the council
that he had now taken over
the ambulance service.
Anyone requiring to avail
themselves of the facility
should make a note of the
new number 236-4364.
Following up on a decision
made at the last meeting to
support a protest in connec-
tion with the government's
apparent indiscriminate
selection of a dump site,
Harry Parrott of the
Ministry of the Environment'
had since written claiming
that a proper and profes-
sional study had been car-
ried out beforehand,
although this did not justify
the criticism that there had
been insufficient consulta-
tion.
Frank McFadden,
representative to the
Ausable-Bayfield Con-
servation Authority
presented a brief report on
their work, and outlined the
role played and the prime
objectives in relation to
Round about

and Tim and Nora West

Parlour of Ontario, first with
Barb's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Davidson and
brother Bill in Windsor and
then in Chatham at the

got exhausted from the spor-

hospital in Galt.
Mrs. Moleman says that
Mr. Moleman disappeared
on Saturday for a while and
nobody knew where he was
at. That is except for
himself. Fifty, his son, has
demanded an explanation.
Reports from Orangeville
tell us that Mr. Bernard
Sturgeon, a summer resi-
dent of our fine village, sav-
ed a neighibour's hone 'frith
going up in flames by his
quick actions last week. Air
parently his neighbour was
cleaning paint brushes in the
basement when the pans of
'gasoline burst into flames.
She ran to the Sturgeon
house for help and he kept
the fire under control until
the fire department arrived.
We finally got a week with
little or no snow for a
change. I'll bet everyone ape
preciated that brief respite
from the howling winds of
winter.
