Although the recent heavy snowstorms have caused a great deal of hardship
by closing roads and forcing expensive clean-ups, there's a silver lining in
every cloud as nature has painted some beautiful scenes in the area. This
picture postcard of a house on Albert Street in Clinton is just one example.

that the sorority's
Christmas party at the
White Carnation was very
successful with 41 members
and guests attending.
Our book and bake sale at
the town hall had a very
disappointing turnout and it
was agreed that .- turday
morning should be avoided
for any future sales. At the
end of the business meeting,
members exchanged
Christmas gifts with the help
of Santa.
Our children's Christmas
party was held on Saturday,
December 13 at Wesley -
Willis United Church. After
watching an entertaining
film, the parents and
children enjoyed a lunch of
sandwiches and cookies
before Santa arrived to
distribute presents.
The next meeting will
beheld at Nancy Anstett's on
January 13.
La Lechers plan
January 14 meeting
On January 14 there will be
a meeting of the La Leche
League in Huron County
South at the home of D.
Scott, 84 Waterloo Street
South in Goderich at 8 p.m.
This will be the final
meeting of a series of four.
The topic for discussion will
be, "Nutrition and
Weaning".
The last meeting on
December 10 was not well
attended due to inclement
weather. Therefore, some
time may be used to discuss
the family and the breastfed
baby, if the people attending
the meeting want it
discussed.
Although the topic for the
meeting is pre-set, there is
always time to discuss
solutions to particular
problems a breastfeeding
mother may be en-
countering. Many opinions
are shared and often similar
experiences are recounted.
After the reeling, there is
a social time where people
who attend can get to know
each ether better or continue
discussions.
Instead of the usual
cookies and cake, there will
be a selection of hot cereals.
People who are planning to
attend are asked to bring a
topping that does not contain
sugar. The mothers can then
try the different com-
binations.
Available at; the meeting is
an excellent loan library
containing many books on
nursing, mothering, child
care, childbirth, etc.
Pamphlets are also
available.
Babies are always
welcome at La Leche League
meetings, as well as any
woman interested in lear-
ning
eannirig more about the art of
breastfeeding.
Should anyone run into
difficulties or wish to have
&ore information, she can
contact a leader at any time.
In Huron County, the leaders
are: Mrs. Berard Billson
(524-2390 ), Mrs. Peter
Bisback (262-2192, and Mrs.
John Kerr (887-9253).
