W.I. will meet Monday after-
noon,
fternoon, Jan. 12 in the New Hall
at Hohnesville at 2 p.m.
The Enterprising Seniors
will meet in the New Hall in
Hohnesville this Thursday,
Januarys 8 at 2 p.m. Please, a
good attendance would be
appreciated to discuss the
furnishing of the Seniors
room in the hall.
On New Year's Eve, the
Township Hall was filled
with happy people, as
everyone enjoyed the danc-
ing to Jim Medd's band- The
door prize, a half bushel of
apples, was won by Mr. and
Mrs. Terry Pearson, while
Mr. and Mrs: Bert McBride
and Mr. and Mrs. Jim But-
cher
utcher each won a basket of
apples, all donated by Don
Middleton of Whitehalls

The delicious lunch was
served by a bevy of ladies.

spent New Year's with their
daughter, Shirley in Kit-
chener.

doing the ladies' hair in the
Clinton hospital.
Irene Cudmore spent
• Christmas with her son Paul
and family and on New
Year's, spent the day with
her brothers and sisters in
Varna.

cancelled Sunday because of
the stormy weather. ,

Goderich Township
Council ordered accounts
totalling $101,262 paid when
lit .•melt nwegular session

Approximately $.53,000 of this
goes to Muer Construction,
the conipany.which built the
new township hall. The
balance of $1,807.66 is being
held until several situations
in the hall are reelified such
as balancing the heating
system and the adjustment
of heat in the ladies'
washrooms, etc.
Building permits 'were
issued the Province of
Ontario for building a
swimming pool on lot 13,
concession 1 and to Alec
Ostrom for building a barn
addition on lot 24,Base Line.
A ' building permit
requested by Terry McGuire
for the construction of a four -
unit apartment building on
Block A, Plan 25 was turned
down since it does not con-
form to the intent of single
family residences.
Council appointe4 E.U.
Mcllwain as the township
representative on the
MacKay Centre for Seniors
executive.
A motion was passed to
remove $19,000 from the land
severance and lot levy ac-
count to the general account
for ball park usage.
A motion was passed that
the township gravel pit be
removed from the tax roll.
Mr. Costello and Mr. Fry
were present at the council
meeting to discuss the water
situation, well system, etc.
on Plan 28. No motions were
recorded regarding these
matters but the clerk was
instructed to obtain in-
formation on the wells,
systems, uses, etc. for Plans
28and 29.
Gary Davidson, Huron
County Planner, was also
present at the council
meeting to discuss various
items of township concern
such as the Peever rumored
development, the Sawcher
Estate zoning and
4 residential uses regarding D.
• Splan's property.
A request for severance by
Mr, Hartman was -dealt with
as per questionaire.
A letter was read from
LeRoy Poth concerning
drainage from a proposed
condominium development.
The clerk was instructed to
reply that at this time, the
township did not have before
it a request to build a con-
dominium but that if such a
development took place,
adequate drainage would be
an important requirement.
Council passel a motion to -
pass on to the Huron County
Land Division committee
that if the township is
required to specify the
Sections of the Official Plan
under whidh any application
for land severance is ap-
proved or rejected. that the
county must also so specify
in their decision. ,„
