Gary Renaud of the Goderich branch told council that the local brigade is restricted from buying a used ambulance from the government but the tran- saction can be completed between two levels of government. Council agreed to act as the purchasing agent for the brigade and the Goderich Branch will cover all the costs involved. Tax arrears from rent EXETER - Tenants in sprite rental facilities in Exeter may soon be paying their rent to the town coffers rather than their landlords. On the recommendation of the finance committee, council agreed to invoke provincial statutes which allow the town to collect certain tax arrears from tenants, who in turn then deduct such amounts from the rents which they pay to their landlords. Chairman Bill Mickle advised that landlords are in arrears by $28,000 in taxes on local rental facilities. It was noted that this method had been used in the past to collect delinquent taxes from landlords.
